My question is does Mr. Johnson have a OS Giken decal on the side of his car? Did he pay full list? If yes, or no, then recommendations are suspect.
Some people tell the truth regardless of the sponsorship or dealership deals they get. In my case I paid full boogie retail for the OSG Super Lock in the back of my 350Z long before I sold the product. I approached OSG to see if they had a unit for old Datsuns that I could sell because I liked their product so much better then the Quaifes, Nismo, Kazz, and Cusco units I had run before. That lead to a little bit of development work and a dealership opportunity a couple years ago. It took me about 18 months to convince Toby and others here about how good these diffs really are.
As I posted above they are not a magic bullet that makes everyone an autocross God. They are a good step in the right direction given some setup effort on the part of the chassis engineer and some driving style changes on the part of the driver. Just slapping the diff in the car won't make you any faster and the improvements over most existing LSDs are incremental. If you're happy with what you have and are going fast enough, there's no reason to make a change - especially if the big item holding you back is your own driving skill.

What is the possibility of an 8.8" Ford application?

From Sean at OSG:
"We're working on it now. No firm eta just yet."

Thanks. I'll pass the along word of future possibility of another diff for us Mustang guys. A lot of people have been having not so good luck with the newer T2R and are looking for options.

If OS provided tech support to the build team it wasn't obvious. All the comments about tuning and driver changes of course are true. It would have been nice of course if they hadn't changed the tires before testing the differentials or had changed the tires before establishing the baseline. Having said that a follow up article discussing the improvement with tuning would likely serve the manufacture well.

Since I don't think an 8.8" is a fit in a Lotus, must be something going on here I'm not aware of...

You think I went to school just to eat my lunch?
Even I know the S2000 doesn't have an 8.8" rear...never live with all that torque, duh!
Please tell me you are building an ESP 5.0 S197...and that you need a co-driver!

One of these

To make this I assume.
How about using a Dana 44, I think OSG has an app for that.

Oh, I get it. I had no idea, I guess my joke wasn't really...a joke.
I guess a Ford Motorsport center section wouldn't really add any weight to the S2K and certainly would be stouter.

And gear ratios from 3.08-6.14 for $300.00 doesn't hurt either.
