I've never done an event with rain. Anything you all recommend? How does working the cones and such work...

But seriously, I have a question about this also. I'm running V710 for the first time in the wet, should I just stay home or find a set of rims and throw street tires on 'em Tirerack web site says they should be OK as long as there's no standing water, any truth to that?

Rule of thumb, standing water needs thread. If the ground is just wet, R-comps are still faster.

I would advise against driveing to an event on R-comps in any kind of rain threat. Too easy to find puddles where you'll have no gas, brake or steering.

I wouldn't actually drive to an event on R-comps in the dry either, they toss lots of rocks at your paint, tear up easily with a bad alignment and raise eyebrows from the police. But that's an individual's decision.

Most weather sites only say slight chance or chance of rain. Not even a percentage listed. The way this is being talked about you'd think we were expecting floods. Besides, I spend a good bit of last Sunday taking apart Ron's kart and cleaning it, it better not rain!

We had umbrella's in the heat at Norton. If we hadn't this would be a lot smaller club with a larger number of memorial events. Might help with rain.

You should pack an umbrella and you can use it when you are not working.
We may have to make a safety call on umbrellas when working so try to bring hoods so you don't need an umbrella.

I don't like it when people run with umbrellas and slip.
Don't hit cars with your umbrella in grid or paddock.
Don't let your umbrella invert in the wind and distract you causing an unsafe condition.
Make sure you can see cars and cones when you are working,

Hard to drive in, but Home Depot had rain suits for under $20. Nice bright yellow for added safety on the course.
