The interesting thing is that since I posted the list above at 9:01, the number of entries has gone from 958 to 965. 7 more people in 1.5 hours. Not bad.

SS and AS look like there will be some huge battles!

I think the most intriguing class might be AS with a gaggle of S2000s battling each other. Throw in the venerable Vettes, Boxster S, STi and Solstice GXP and you have a dogfight..

The GXPs potential has yet to be fully realized IMO. It had the raw times to win last year and this year there are more of them. I'm interested in how the CR version of the S2000 will do. I did notice Derek Butts is also on the entry list in a 2008 S2000 and he ain't no slouch. If he happens to be in a 2008 CR it'll be even more interesting.

The single STi entered is the wild card, especially if the conditions are less than ideal. Jonathen Roberts did quite well last year in Donnie Barnes' STi and that was in dry conditions.

Then there's that McWho guy....Just when you aren't paying attention he'll give you a wake up call..

If it were up to me and I had too much money and time, I'd have to try out the S2000 CR (although the AP1 is obviously capable) and GXP as my choice for the dry and an STi as my rain car.

Dood, are you gonna eat that?

It's funny, the majority of AS is in the wrong car (00-07 S2000), me being one. The GXP is definitely the car to have. The GXP is arguably the most purpose built autox car out there, the MS-R being the other. Too bad the feedback is about as numb as a prostitute's... emotions, and it has about as much testosterone as as a lesbian convention. I'm just happy that none of the drivers are 1st string autox drivers. In the hands of a good driver, it would be unstoppable.

It'll be interesting to see a S2000 CR in capable hands. I'd guess it's still 2nd, although a very close 2nd to the GXP. They're both geared wrong, but the Krappa car out-torques the S2000 by almost 100 lb/ft of torque. At least it's on the same level as the C4 vettes.

Whoever buys Stemler's car, I hope he's a hopeless driver that isn't competitive and the car blends into autox oblivion (like Hui's old Porsche, the BS car to have). Then I'll continue to play in AS with the "wrong" car :)

If it rains, we're all SOL and the STi will run circles around us :(
