I also don't trust the 15k (for the BMW) and the 10k (for the Audi) oil change intervals. I have been changing the oil every 5k miles. Even with only 5k miles, the oil looked dirty.

After a few thousand miles oil starts to look darker. Based on what I have read, this by itself does not mean that its lubrication properties have degraded.

That's why I send mine to Blackstone. Proof positive.
