that's cheating ... :P
the cheating part is putting toms data overlaid on his video and then going frame by frame comparing to to my data/video overlay. :heyes:

no hand-held cameras for either your passengers or you during your run, please. It's a safety issue.
Unless it's in the interest of Solo, ie. the wanky hand held shots in the KTLA segment on Auto Cross on our home page. Now THAT was dangerous ... having a cameraman trying to hold a heavy full size ENG (Electronic News Gathering) video camera in one of our cars. :?

Curt ... if your wife is shooting with a Canon, and would like to borrow a long lens next time to take some action shots ... let me know and I'll bring it along.

Cool I'm sure she'd appreciate it. She uses a Canon 50D. I know she has one or two long lenses too but didn't bring them along for some reason. I'm sure she'd love to play with it if it's not one she has already. I'll have to ask her what size(s)/fstop, etc they are.

50D is what I used last year. I don't have anything dramatic like Larry Chen and his 600. I have a Canon 300 f4, that on a 50D is like a 480 mm ... excellent for AX. I also have a 1.4X that I use with it for a bit more reach. I also have a 500 mm F6.3 mirror lens, but it's very difficult to use, ie. no Auto Focus and tiny depth of field. Also have a 70/200 ... which she probably also has. Again good with a 1.4 extender.

This is probably how she feels when I talk cars  I don't really know what any of that means, but I'll show her your post and ask if she'd like to try any of those out. Hopefully we'd be able to return the favor somehow, at least get you some lunch or something :)

You better stop naming lenses before you cost me even more money :D

(Mako just made me get Bev a 150-500 F5-6.3)

You should put audio from one run all to the left speaker & other all to the right. Then you can turn one off or have both on, one louder than the other, etc. A bit more interesting for comparison ;)

Didn't think of that. I'll do that next time.

sloppy is ok when you have the right car for the conditions. It is tough to compete on index with a car that is very good at getting heat into all of its tires when it's that cold/windy/wet. Using something with an ST* index is about the only shot. The odds go the other way for us in august.

On the off-chance that you check the forums before you head out tomorrow, she said she'd like to check out that 300 f4. Either way, I'm sure she'd be happy to take some action shots assuming you're not in the first couple run groups (since we'll show up a little later).
