it's the DVR. we've burned through 4 or 5 of them and a couple of them have had that problem. even though they seem to acquire their time from the cable co, i think they also have a BIOS time that isn't set right

Had Verizon FIOS installed today. Took all day since the first installer fell off his ladder and had to go get stiches. Dufus!

I ordered 10/2 Mps and now have 9835 kps up and 1795 kps down vs 753/134 with DSL. w00t!

Now I get to setup my DVR all over again after being used to Tivo for the last 8 years...

You might want to check into getting a new TiVoHD which you can use with the FIOS CableCards. I helped a customer set one up with his 1080p Panny plasma and it all works flawlessly, and the picture quality is better than his old DirecTV Tivo setup.

I have an older TiVo Series 3 with TWC CableCards and the PQ is great (same model of 1080p Panny), but his FIOS signal is a little better still.

I have a tivoHD that uses cable cards with my standard crappy charter service. I love the setup so much it keeps me out of the satellite market. Maybe I'll Verizon FIOS is the answer for us.

I have the TivoHD with a WD My DVR expander. I have basically every cartoon ever broadcast in the past two years. My "media room/man cave" has become Robert's playroom.

Oh yeah.... :)

Who is this Randy Walters guy???

I tried OpenDNS as suggested by Greg ... but my lack of network/computer skills caused me to completely lose my internet connection. I ended up having to pay $30 dLink Premium service to have them hand hold me through reestablishing a connection ... first hard wire and then wireless. Seems faster now ... sort of ...
