We should go back to Anaheim Stadium.
They expected us to remove all the tire marks after the event.
I think I left some brake rotor marks that event.

The lots are certainly big enough. We have tried many times to get in there in the past with no luck. Sound was the biggest issue, either because of nearness to housing or horses that were being boarded there. But things change, management changes, so who knows.

And 5 quarts of oil from a 60's-era Corvette when it's oil filter hit the pavement at a dip.

BMWCCA held an event or two at that site the past two years. It could definitely be something worth looking at. IIRC the lot was pretty dirty and gravely, but thats just like several lots that were intended for what we do.

Funny, it was an RX7, but one of the wheels broke off.

I'm friends with the guy who heads up non-horse racing events, Pete Siberell, if the lot chairman wants to drop my name or have me introduce him.
I know in recent years, both BMW and Volvo have had autocross-type events there, so there is precedent.

AND, MINI held of their "Mini takes-the-states" test drive events there as well for the general public to come out and flog their cars on a really, really too many cones-in-the-field-of-vision course.
Me, QV and Lily were instructors and actually got some of the people we talked to that day to come out to our events...
So we did a lil "poaching" haha

This was the last event BMWCCA held there,

Looks very similar to our courses. What was the surface like?

The course was designed by scca members.

And what is the weather like in the summer?

Looks like a pretty good sized lot! At the horse racing lot in SF they can't start til 10 in order to avoid spooking the horses, makes for a much more relaxed autocross morning.

Closer to El Toro than to Fontucky. I'd say 80s to high 90s, in general.

THe plus during the summer is that the horses leave to race at Del Mar, generally. Santa Anita's season is Fall and after XMas/spring.

Weather in Arcadia is cooler than Fontucky in Summer by 5-10 deg, equal to, to a bit warmer than El Toro. Will be warmer (by a few degrees) in winter than Fontucky, and El Toro.
Biggest difference.... no big Santa Anna winds! Were to close to the foot of the mountain, with no funnel down from the desert.

It reminded me of Hollywood Park, but I would have to say it's only marginally better. And yes, the course was designed by our own STC teams.
KJ Christopher wrote:And what is the weather like in the summer?
Summer, in general, is ok. I say it's ok because I personally don't like hot, and it can still get pretty hot in Arcadia.

I think it falls in between El Toro and Fontana. However, in that BMWCCA event, the weather actually started out cold and rainy, heavy rain at times in the morning. Then the condition improved throughout the morning, and by the timed runs in the afternoon, it was perfectly clear and dry as you can see in the video.

I raced the same day as Vincent. I remember a lot of gravel on track. Never cleaned up. Did I mention my XP Corvette is for sale.
