It was announced as a DNF and the official results still show it as DNF. I can't see where I DNF'd, can you? On my second run I drove slower to try to see where I might be inadvertently going off course. To my surprise, on the second run the announcer said I hit 3 cones. I would have noticed if I had hit that many cones! Today I see that the 3 cone penalty was removed. (I kinda suspect that the Dodge Charger that started before me on both runs might have reaped both penalties.) Sadly, this "mysterious DNF" on my first run, followed by the undeserved 3-cone penalty on my second run ruined my confidence and hence my pace for the remaining two runs. Oh, well, it was not my best day. :)
Yes, video is acceptable proof. You did not DNF, I'll updated the results when I get home tonight.

Haha I find your voice soothing and relaxing Leonard. My favorite part of that video is around 52sec, going up the hill, "Gas, more, more, more, come on!"

@ Brian ... that Firebird had open trumpet intakes ... eight of them. It was awesome! The kid must have been 16

@ Leonard ... who Instructed with it ... how was the power ?

Thanks for the great advice Leonard! I need to keep focusing on looking ahead. There were quite a few places where that definitely would have helped me out.

Here are my runs 2-4, the memory card wasn't in all the way for my first run, but it was my slowest anyway.

Mako Koiwai wrote:@ Marshall ... why such a quick short shift at the start ?
i shifted at the point in the corner where i would have had to lift anyways to make it through the corner. that allowed me to maximize the amount of time i spent accelerating in 2nd gear by not having to stuff a gear change somewhere in the middle of the straight.

it was a little early, but not much.

I instructed with it - gas pedal was really heavy, so you had to push it down hard to get to the power. There was only one spot where I was able to really open up, but it had a lot of thrust once I did. }:)
