The Tundra does it on gearing, it is seemingly never in the wrong spot, and always has power in reserve. I get 19mpg on the hwy (no trailer), I get 15mpg towing a single, and 13mpg towing the big trailer - which has been pulled 70mph up the Grapevine, just to see if it could do it.

My only complaint, I wish you could get the Crew Max with the 6'5" bed, to get a good sized bed you have to go with the Double Cab.

With the new 2014 coming out soon I would expect deals on new and used 07+ trucks in the future.

Good trailer brakes and especially a good trailer brake controller is a must. Many swear by the Prodigy controllers but I tried a newer model called Maxbrake that senses brake pressure and will never go back. I tow a 7k travel trailer with a 1/2 ton Nissan Titan and have found that the truck will easily pull the trailer up the grapevine at full speed but the tricky part is the northbound downhill. I've found the best technique is to let the truck coast up to about 70mph and lightly brake it down to 55 and repeat. I've never overheated the brakes doing this but I always get to the bottom dreaming of diesels and jake brakes...

Have you seen the new '14 styling? Whats with the Ford grill, and Ford tailgate (actually I think the tailgate is the best looking thing on the F150, I like the horizontal slat marks)? IMHO I foresee the last of the '13's going for a premium to avoid the '14's. haha
