You're talking about rolling it around, not actually jacking up the car?Bill Schenker wrote:Am talking about the 1.5 ton H.F. jack that I tossed - that front roller just doesn't do well on rough/uneven surfaces; I want the added stability of the four wheel, 2+ton types.Bob Beamesderfer wrote:Too narrow for what? Jacking up. The wheels weren't rolling very well any more (for the last year) and I had some close calls with the car nearly tipping off the opposite side jack stands.

Re: Best deal on 2 ton alu. jack?
Why not just keep a piece of thin plywood handy so that the jack can roll smoothly?
Seems like the problem you're experiencing is caused by the small diameter front wheel getting stuck on roughness in the tarmac surface. A bigger wheel will roll over these things better, but that makes the jack heavier and more unwieldy. Faking out a smoother surface with a piece of plywood might be the easiest way to improve the situation. Of course, that assumes that the bearings in the wheels are good.

Ordered. HF only has a 30 day in store/90 day ship-to-manufacturer warranty; TR is 1 yr. ship-to-mana. so that's why I went the TR one. ~$192.00 shipped from Reno.Robert Puertas wrote:Google is your friend.

What is amazing Bill, is that Mikey has a shopping kart, a breadbox, and a Freddie Mercury roadster... And besides the hat, we know he lusts for the Segway. Yet... We voted him in as our leader.
