Don, we should be good for tools. Bring basic hand tools so we can have people working in different areas at the same time.

John, After we get going on the remodel we will probably have some fab work for you.

Robert/Leslie, after the tearout we'll get you some dimensions and you two can have a design contest. Winner can choose something from the Goodwill donation pile :P

Bill, capachino duty!

Hey, maybe John Coffey can work in the World's First Motorhome Roll Bar system... which could conveniently address those structural integrity issues we're facing by removing stuff in the back, as well as provide convenient routing for our network, timing, P.A. and power cables.

Just curious. Are you planning on moving timing to the back of the motorhome, or just gutting it and using it for storage? Getting rid of anything not timing-related (no kitchen, beds, etc)?

Sorry Mike, my JD2 bender is limited to 2.5" OD tubing and, even then, I don't think the hydraulics can bend a 2.5" x .120" wall tube.

Well.. there are windows in the back..

I'd be happy to help with the timing system/pc/hardware buildout.. ie. Computer stuff. Flat screens, PC's etc, wiring of said devices, Design of required infrastrcuture, etc.. pretty much what I've done for the last 12 years professionaly. ;)

Also have items I can probably donate.

BTW... I've got some front seats out of a 1991 Mustang LX that are in reasonable shape if you guys need additional seating.

I also have RJ45 and coax cable I don't need. A Netgear 4-port switch and D-Link 4-port router.

As for the overall structure of the exterior shell, is it really dependent on interior cabinet structures? Seems unlikely given the customization that can be had. :?:

The basic plan is to gut the back, install bigger windows wrapping all the way around (kinda like San Diego's trailer), build in counters and storage so timing functions from back there, with a door separating the front half to keep the riff-raff out. Cones will be stored in the center section with other course equipment.

Has anybody done a rough draft of the layout? I'm just curious on how much room is going for the "timing" center and how the storage/cones are going to be arranged.

Not yet Glenn. All in good time. First we're getting rid of the unnecessary stuff / dead weight.

We have about 6-7 weeks between Dec and Jan which would be perfect for the major stuff to be done. We know some of the major stuff was going to be done by others. Time is running out. Tear it apart. Gut it. But we still need to have plans or we will end up with another "vendor" POS.

Or maybe have a little faith in those of us that are doing this that we aren't complete idiots.

I don't know man, I've seen plenty of IQ drops (including my own) when people have a Sawsall in hand.
