walmart doesn't hire union. that's why they have a hard time getting permits in a lot of cities. grocery unions are fairly powerful.

also, for no reason at all, and since this is the OT forum

Walmart doesn't hire union?
Jeff....
Wake up and smell the Obama...

Walmart will not have any choices in the matter.

The unions are coming back big time in one great last tragic experiment....

well, I'd be very surprised if they hire union.

this has been one of the most firm stances Walmart has held. One reason why i don't believe they're going to switch, is IF they were to hire union, they'd lose all the opposition to their grocery expansion, which would mean i'd have 40 pending california projects suddenly approved by WM real estate committee, and go for construction documents.

Jeff-

Its not their choice. You don't hire not hire union.

They have successfully blocked a successful union election. Til now.

With Cardcheck in place and a democrat controlled NLRB a successful election will occur at every major employer in the country. Once declared union, Walmart won't control who they hire. The union will.

i'll believe it when i see that. i'm highly skeptical of THAT happening.

are you going to be driving on sunday? i'm thinking about coming out sunday to snap more ugly pictures of people and their cars. I'd like to yap with you and Stacey (more her than you) about construction litigation.

Russia is going to put missiles near Poland. Why? Because Poland signed a deal with the U.S. back in August for us to provide a missile defense system. Of course, Medvedev is just Putin with a different face and just as untrustworthy as before. For some reason W seemed to like Putin at first.

Steve, why would Obama sell out Israel? John Bolton was on BBC last night and he never made one suggestion that there would be a foreign policy shift anything like that. Not even a hint.
It would appear from Medvedev's comments that this is clearly directed at Obama.

If you check the county results, the more intelligent areas of California went with McCain. Check out the lopsided voting in the People's Republic of San Francisco County.

Oops, they changed the website temporarily apparently do to high volume. Check back later.

So what? If McCain had won he would have said the same thing. What y'all don't get is no matter who won, someone will try something.

Jeff-

Stacey and I will be there all weekend except for Saturday morning when I zip Roberto over for teeball.

Haven't made a decision on driving one handed yet. Been off the vicodin and tequilla for a couple of days and doing better... As long as I don't use my arm. :( Neck is pretty locked up so G forces are rough. Knee is fine for driving just can't touch it. Stacey and my little brother are driving the Same Sex Marriage Bleu civic all weekend.

Clinton and Bush were both tested early. I'm not worried about Obama being a draw. And while Russia may not want to engage, the terrorists do, so McCain wasn't a deterrent because people might have thought he'd fire back faster.

Karzai's tough talk is at least as troubling, because he's going head on to discourage the idea of remote control conflicts. When I'd rather do it with air, cruise missiles and drones and get the ground troops OUT.

Hambone Karzai better remember who put him where he is. His corruption has squandered his right to protest.

I have some union election experience where I was lucky enough to win but that was by a secret ballot 60 days after a notification that 50% of the staff wanted them to represent them in negotiations.

With the new card check system the secret vote goes away and unions can get in with just tricking a staff member to sign the card and if they get enough, the union is in.

It is going to be very difficult to keep them out.

Maybe that is all the new jobs he is talking about, union organizers :barf:
