Saturday is now full. Sunday is a little over half full, but is noticably picking up steam. I wouldn't wait long to get entries in.

The entry lists are parked on the second message of this thread. It gets update about once a day.

No gate fee. I've learned that's a SpeedVenture revenue thing.

It's not just a speed ventures thing, it's anyone who rents the big track and the infield track. They can choose to have
a gate fee or not. We are very lucky the CA speedway does not have a gate fee (at the main gate). Willow Springs and Button Willow both have a $10 gate fee per person just to come in and watch (insurance most likey)

We're just going to sign waviors 'locally', like normal.

Cal Club members are NOT supposed to be charged the gate fee at Button Willow.

Exactly....because guess who OWNS ButtonWillow?? Big Papa Cal Club. Just show your SCCA membership card that shows region: 019 and photo ID and fee is waived.

Missed out on the Jan 24th practice because of what it said at the bottom of the ad:

"Pre-registration is not available for this event" :o

Didn't know you have to pay in advance (vs not pay in advance for regionals). Already made plans for Sunday.

Anthony-

Never assume you have this place figured out.

Championships and practices are very different events and run differently. Also, month to month different clubs host so there are little tweaks and differences. If you're unsure, always ask.

Thanks, Steve. Live and learn. I've been away from the Solo scene way far too long for personal reasons. Glad to be back. Also used to be one of the first STS cars when it was still on a regional level. Now I've moved on to one of the underdog cars in SS.

Go to the flyer (see first message in this thread), there's a sign up built into it.

I'm looking forward to running with Cal Club this weekend at the practice event. Hopefully, it won't rain too much, as that will kind of mess up our plans. Does the site drain ok?

Actually, while I'm asking questions, I have two more, if anyone can help me out:
1. I'm staying at the Hyatt Place (hey, it's free) at Ontario Mills on Friday night. Will I have any worries with my tire trailer? (I have a lock for the plastic box and a cable lock for the wheels/tires)
2. Any thing to be aware of, as a newbie, in terms of getting into the speedway site?

Thanks,
Mike

Most of us leave our trailers/race cars at the track ... safer then at the hotel.

It appears that weather forecasts for this weekend (especially Sunday) calls for rain. While I love driving in the wet, my car tire's wear bars are well worn and driving to the event is precarious at best. Would it be possible to apply my deposit for Sunday, February 1st event instead?

Will there be access to the site on Friday afternoon? I'll be leaving NorCal early enough to be down there by 4-5pm.

Thanks.

Mike, It's an odd event. It's not in the usual huge Green lot we run in, but in one of the lots inside the speedway. It's a team building kinda deal with the road race community. My guess would be that access on Friday to the speedway's interior would be restricted, since someone would probably be using it for testing of some type, but Jayson Woodruff is the final word when it comes to this one.

Marshall, Christine, some friends and I will be heading the other way up towards Tahoe for the weekend. :D

You coming down for the Tour/Pro?

I believe so, yes. I just don't know if anything is happening Friday on the lots we plan to use, I doubt it though. Worst comes to worst, just find some free fence anywhere inside the oval and lock it up there.

Getting close.

Only about 7 or 8 spots left in Sunday, so don't wait last minute!
