I would like to go to the event. I do not have a Pay-Pal account. Can I mail a check and to what address should I send it?

I think that should be version 0.9 of the banquet?

David: The BIGGEST misconception/myth about PayPal is that you NEED to have an account on PayPal. You do not. PayPal allows you to pay via other forms:
  • Bank account
  • Debit card
  • Major credit card
So no need for a check. Same goes for when you pay for a championship event or a points card.

Renee Angel wrote:I notice that there are only 47 people registered for the Banquet next weekend. Come on folks, Robert Puertas has done an exceptional job at coordinating time and place for the Banquet. We have the WHOLE restaurant to ourselves and the food sounds fantastic.

I know there is a San Diego event scheduled for that day, but this Banquet will be the first one that is missing a key member of our organization. Let's all come out and celebrate the many, many years of committment Craig gave to the sport.

Just a reminder - it's a tradition that each club bring a door prize donation to the Banquet, in case everyone's forgotten.

You don't come to the banquet and your jacket will end up a 3XL embroidered with "Steve, yo!"

We will be coming straight from SD after running in the morning, we might miss lunch, but I don't want to miss cheering for my friends.

Here's the link for those that have been procrastinating. The banquet is a lot of fun so if you haven't been before, come on out and support your fellow autoxers. Remember, K1 afterwords.

I was just talking to Renee. She is very disappointed that we only have 70 people coming to the banquet. I don't think everyone knows who is getting a trophy.

There is still time to register - see the front of the home page for details or go to the AXWare registration site. I know that there is a an Diego event, but it would be great to have all the trophy winners there celebrating their wins. (I understand that the conflict with the San Diego event was unavoidable.)

Hope to see you there!

There is an event in San Diego this Sunday. I suspect a few folks on the list will be there. :|

Yes, Michael is right. We have an event in SD. Bit of a bummer! Would have been really cool to come up and hangout and congratulate everyone on a great season!

Did they change the alphabet without telling me? When I learned my ABC's E came after D but before F (or G in this case)

Note to whoever moved my thread and Gayle's thread to this thread. What we were trying to do was generate additional looks and bring the Banquet back to the forefront for people who have procrastinated, forgot, whatever, etc. in an effort to bring up the number of attendees. The title of this thread has been around too long and is stale. Even if it were to be bumped, it's not likely to generate any new interest, hence the different title. As someone who sells for a living, I can tell you that unless someone is predisposed to attend, it requires an average of asking 5 times to get people to change their mind. Adding additional details, a new title, etc. allows people to reconsider their initial decision to ignore this original thread. By moving our new thread titles to this one, it puts the banquet thread in purgatory so to speak where it falls off the new posts page and the new titles and posts become useless in any kind of marketing effort.

Maybe you could bring at least one of those threads back for the final few hours for the reasons I've stated. I would be grateful.

no need to be anonymous about it George, there are 3 people who have access to it and their names are at the top there as moderators for the forum, they're Mike Simanyi, Marshall Grice, and Will Kalman (and me if I log out and in as the admin). Though I gotta say I support the consolidation of threads, threads with new content will always show up on the new post pages.

My thought also is that if someone isn't going to the banquet, it isn't because they're sitting at home bored, it's because they have other plans. (or have to work like Toby) I've had it as a sticky in the events forum for quit a while. I could make it an announcement for the whole board so it was at the top no matter where you went.. but that can get real annoying.

Though this is coming from someone who reads pretty much every thread on the forum except for that garbage in the Political Paddock.

Ooo and since I'm posting about an annual item, I'd also like to request that people put the Date or at least the year in the titles of posts that are about Annual events that way someone searching for data for a past October event doesn't have to sift through every thread named "October Championship", etc. ;) (I'll usually go through and rename them if I get time)

If I had a graphic I also could put it up in the top below the title where we used to put the Ads, though it's a little late now..
