nah the pax's are fairly close these days. I did the math to see what happens when you convert from the rtp to the pro indexes and you end up with about 1sec/60 difference. which pretty much exactly matches up with the launch disparity between the evo and a miata (assuming 30sec long courses per side).

Why are you talking about someone that's lost his/her job? In that case, yes, one might even stop AXing altogether, as unfortunately so many of our members have.

As far as all others, my proposition for co-driving a top-level car is quite generous; ask around, Gio.

I agree with Bill. This is a great opportunity to be in one of the best cars in the country. And its just been extensively freshened and improved.

People still have money out there. Sad times for many though.

I did a rough tally of the costs. It comes to ~7K. And thats if you don't break something.

I agree, Bill's numbers are in the right ballpark to co-drive a nationally competitive SP car. It isn't cheap, but you need to bring value in some way.

That's right, Art, and that's what it costs (more than that, actually) to race nationally at a top level.

It is what it is; often more and not usually less.

I understand that. I wasn't being critical, just putting a total exposure down. Its the financial analyst in me.

Putting aside whether I'd fit (not a prayer), whether I could drive it well enough to do it justice (not there yet) or whether I could afford it right now (definitely not...stock class for the next couple years until the economy...and my driving...gets better), I'd kill to get behind the wheel of that thing! It's one badass little minx, and I'd love to wrestle with it.

I agree. This is a great opportunity for someone with the right talent, competitive fire, (edited to add) functional shoulders and understanding of the costs to be truly at the top of the game for Nationals. Gio, you misunderstood my point.

Oh I don't doubt that the money is worth it for your car but my point was that there maybe someone who has the talent to drive your car but due to either reduced hours or not in their budget (as they may have cut down on ax-ing this year), they just deem it to be not feasible at this time. Again your numbers are not out of line just against the backdrop of the economy they may seem high to some that's all. Now if the driver has the talent then he'll offset the costs of tires/brake pads by winning.

I'd be all over this if I had the money. But even if I sold my car/trailer/spares, I'd still be $1k short of the funds. Add in the lack of real income and it's out of reach.

Andi turned down one National level (FWD) car co-drive already and is looking at another one, RWD, while the car owner is looking at what he should be asking for. Andi's C4 has just become too unreliable ... so she want to put her AX/Hoosier budget towards a co-drive.
