Your correct about third (my bad) but I thought there were about 10 cars at the last event. While 4th vs. 6th may be a "jump"...one's committed to the entire afternoon anyway, either way.

I attempted to verify that "10" guess.... but we don't post results on the Solo2 page anymore.... (Don't understand why, it's just a link to a file.... but those smarter than I have made the call to require searching this forum for a past posting results message... then following those links etc etc, rather than just posting a link on our actual Region Solo site where all can find it.) Awaiting KJ's response... I'm sure I'm wrong on the reason, and he'll make me  again.
I think you are close on the number from last month. It was one of the largest classes preregistered last month, this month there are two cars. Moving to sixth with two drivers in our car would make the x-runs we signed up for impossible.

It's not just a link, it's a seperate copy, if you want to redo the main site so it supports straight linking to the results at AXware's site i'm sure Will would be happy to let you, but as it is I think it's much smarter to stick with one copy than trying to rememebr to update multiple copies.

P.S. Why would you have to "Search the site"? There's an entire area of the forum that you can click on from the front page that has all the results at it, with pics of the courses and the year to date results. All in one place, and as you pointed out here's it's searchable.

Patience, patience. We've made a lot of changes this past year. It take time to get it all right. Remember, we're all volunteers. :)

Not my area. Rick will have to make you cry this time.

That said, the issue is still being 'discussed' and isn't settled yet.

Ran 3rd last time, that would be a bit of a jump, we should be in 4 this time. And somehow I doubt the two of us would have much impact on the "under subscribed" group.

Yeah this was very difficult.
And before you speak about how SIMPLE it is, it's not. It's more cumbersome to do the linking based on how the website is written now that we've moved over to AXWare.

Since the Solo2.com site requires a PDF, the file has to be converted. First it has to be copied off the Timing computer to put on a computer with software to make the PDF. Then since the base AXWare file has a font that will not display correctly in a PDF it has to be converted before you can make the PDF. So multiple steps each time as opposed to connecting the Timing computer to the internet, 2 clicks and the file is on the AXWare site.

There is the Events Forum with the Event Results sub-forum containing direct links to results so you don't even have to go to the AXWare site first. How much easier do you need it?

It's at the top when you look at the events forum, or right underneath events when on the front page. I get the feeling a bunch of people use that new thread button exclusively.. not much I can do to organize stuff for them.

P.S. I agree it's REALLY nice having all that stuff all in one place and visible :D

WOW, PAX is PACKED:
https://axwaresystems.com/axorm/calenda ... de=reglist" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

also looks like PAXL is going to have a fun class again, and toby & Bev aren't even signed up yet.

you missed my point.

We have this wonderful web site for the region with a event results page. But there's nothing there. If you want to look at results you have to know to click the link to the forum, then track down the thread someone posted the link to the axware program where the file sits. That's not simple. That requires intricate understanding of where we currently bury the results. Simple would be posting on our website under the heading of results where YEARS of other results sit.

Edit: I'm one of those "new post" clickers. So I was not aware of the section Steve listed above. Why does this section not pop up under new posts? None the less.... if were going to maintain a section on the main page... AND ADD EACH NEW event there as they happen we should post the results there (or as a minimum compromise post a link to where they actually are.) John - thanks for posting your work there. Rick, I understand addition work is involved, but it's been done for years, it's not like it's new (and thank you for those years of doing the work).

Then again we keep giving lip service to "better, funner, cost effective... etc etc for newbies" (and I would hope existing people too).... but just about every action implemented is in the opposite direction. :computer:

I wasn't aware of it either til I went specifically looking for results in a systematic comprehensive way. I know we aren't a business, good thing too, because we'd be looking for a change of careers.

Uh.. i guess I could just re-copy and paste my first reply. Posting the results in 2 places is how you end up with two different copies of the results at some point.. then someone thinks one result is right and throws a fit when it isn't, it 100% would happen.

I could take away the "new posts" feature.. that would fix a lot of these issues, though those event results posts should show up under new posts. The deal really is there is not much I can do to draw the attention of people who use "new posts", it puts blinders on them.

Aaron-

If I want to go to the Solo2.com site I click the banner on the top of this screen.

But if I want to find AXware I have to go to my own bookmarks folder, for those new people or just less initiated, how do they find axwhere? Buried in a thread somewhere???

Seems if Axwhere is the way of the future we ought to have a big glowing neon sign pointing the way.... Or at least something in the banner. Even..... an ad???
