Apparently the school didn't help....he wrecked later that year. So sad for the car.

The worst kept secret in F1....but good for Giancarlo. Happy for him. And if he wins at the next race??? An Italian driver, driving for an Italian team, racing at Monza, Italy??? The tifosi will explode!
Who will be faster, Fisi or Kimi?
I say Kimi

Yeah, I think if it hadn't happened it would have been bigger news. If he wins at Monza, they're going to crack the bells from ringing them.

He wrecked when he hit a spot on closed for the even public road and got airborne. Not quite the same as wrecking a car at autocross. }:)

They were close at Spa, but I think Kimi's always been the faster driver.

But never forget the "emotion" Giancarlo is running on...and he TOO will have KERS, so at Monza I expect them to both be equal. But in general...the Kimster would be quicker than Giancarlo (same when he was teammates with Alonso at Renault and Fernando was faster).

Here's a trivia question: What do Kimi and Giancarlo have in common other than driving for Ferrari?

If the car's are equal and Giancarlo can get up to speed in the new ride with one practice session, then I think Kimi stands to get embarrassed. Why do you think he won? Actually drove hard because he couldn't watch as the new guy scores the first win of the season. Maybe we'll see the Kimi talent upclose two weeks in a row, but I'd fire his ass anyway. Who wants a driver that doesn't care to give his all til it suits him.

There actually three practice sessions; two Friday and one Saturday.

Fisi proved that his talent is still there and because the Force India car is no longer a backmarker at every single race he was close throughout. So if the Ferrari isn't worlds different he should be just as competitive as Kimi. Kimi still knows the car better and that gives him an edge; if he doesn't party too much the night before.

Fisi has five seasons with Jordan/Force India, skipping the MF-1 and Spyker iterations. Seven seasons driving for a team run by Flavio "Mr. Fix-It" Briatore.

no schumi.
And Bill Schenker is NOWHERE in sight on the boards.....hmmmmm. His silence is deafening! :)

But a part of me did want to see him return but reality was, no f-ing way can he just "jump in" to this new car. If the rules had been the same since his last season of driving, then the car would've been similar, and had he not wrecked doing bikes maybe. Oh well....the Ferrari empire is crumbling.
I was busy trying to get my car working, too bad, because back in August I could've told you, Gio, that YOU'RE ON DRUGS! Do you not realize that when they went back to slicks, Ferrari brought in Schumi, being he was the only one still around that had experience w/that type of tire.

My guess if he would've been able to get into the cockpit? In the first race he would've humiliated the Kimster. Glad to see the Slacker going to McLaren. As much as I didn't like Alonso in the past, I think the guy's grown up and could do so amazing things @ Ferrari if they give him a good car next season - he can obviously drive incredibly well.

Oh, and one more thing, Gio. The Ferrari Empire is crumbling? Then what do call what happened to Team Shopping Kart?! I'll tell you: Team Run-Back-To-The-Black-Forest-With-Your-Tail-Between-Your-Legs. Or maybe just, Team Can't-Take-The-Heat.

It would appear that Patch's Mower is the fastest Shopping Kart in the world now!

Oh I see your motor mouth is finally working.....as opposed to the one in the Miata that keeps going....KABLAMO? :)
BMW is in the business to sell cars, just like Honda. Ferrari is owned by Fiat, and if the Italians who can't seem to run a team (too many cooks in the kitchen), decide that F1 is too expensive, they could pull out too, so don't get too cocky tifosi Bill. And how stupid were they to force Schumi into "retirement" yet they come begging back? Even I who rooted against him, did not want him to leave. What a dumb move. As you can see, they're mid-pack at best, and McLaren will pass them by this year and they'll be in 4th place.

I think Ferrari and McLaren will both be back on top next year. Though I totally don't understand McL wanting anything to do with Kimi.
