But Dutto was Mafiosi, so the suspect list is long.

Briatore owns an exclusive resort in Kenya, Lion in the Sun, which costs about $40k a week to stay at. Flav will probably "retire" to St. Thomas and live off income from double-secret, tax-sheltered Swiss foundation.

Suspended disqualification, no fine for Renault

If you're a friend of Bernie, you don't get the $100m shaft that McLaren got. :mrt:

I actually agree with the decision and what McLaren did was more egregious. They stole plans for building a car that could "lead" to many many wins. Whereas what Piquet Jr. did...did NOT guarantee a win for Fernando. What is up with all these F1 guys just going "criminal"?

Not to be picky, but McLaren didn't steal anything. A disgruntled Ferrari employee gave them to a McLaren engineer who didn't have the brains to take the documents and report the whole thing to the FIA. As soon as Ron Dennis learned about it, he did report it to the FIA.

Attempting to rig a race is at least as egregious, especially when it involves creating an accident that could have injured or killed other drivers. Copying parts of a car doesn't equate to winning either. At best, what McLaren learned would provide fodder for a protest of Ferrari's floor design and better guessing about pit stop strategy by knowing more about the weight of the unladen car.

Just for the hell of it ... I wonder how much it cost to fix Jr's car? Of course a minor expense in getting Renault a Victory

I'd guess less than the money that came with 8 constructor's points.

Interesting. They're putting Canada right in the middle of the Euro schedule?

Because the contract hasn't been signed yet officially so if it doesn't work, they'll push back Turkey a week after Monaco.

Second witness against Briatore:

My guess is that Witness X is Alonso's race engineer.
