True, but it wasn't like he didn't have a skill set to begin with.

What size rims do Miatas run?

It depends on the year. The first gen Miata's ('90-'93) ran 14 x 5.5, except for some of the special editions that used 14 x 6. Most of the '94-'97 Miata's used 14 x 6 wheels, but some special editions used 15 x 6. '99-'00 used 14 x 6 and 15 x 6, IIRC, the '01+ used 16 x 6.5 on the Sport models.
This is, of course, all from memory as I'm at work, it's 4am, and I didn't get much sleep during the day.

That's pretty close for just off memory:

For 2001 and 2002, you could get the 15x6 in the base model w/o suspension package. Suspension package and LS editions added the 16x6.5. For 2003-2005, all non-turbo Miatas came standard with 16x6.5. The 2004-2005 Mazdaspeed Miata came with 17x7 standard.

What about a fiberglass bodied Myers Manx VW Buggy?
I think it would fit in HS Class?
This is a very light weight kit car....
I've had my eye on one I could buy for a very long time now.

My comments about tire available were about the larger tires needed to run in FS with an old mustang.
Tough to run down a Shelby GT with 295-30-18's.

We have a local class called CSM ... California Street Mod ... where you can run pretty much anything, that I believe is licensed for the street. Typically you'll want to run R tires to be competitive. Go to
http://www.solo2.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and look at Past Results on the left to see which cars are running in CSM

Most AM cars I've seen in person or pictures -- might be the same 3

-- look like that, including the multi-element wing.

You could run a Manx in CSM potentially. Keep it lower to the ground than it would be for dune cruising.

Might use a three-cylinder snowmobile engine. Steve O'Blenes' car does.

I know an old 125 shifter that could be picked up cheap.
It has an extended front porch and large seat and was set up for somebody 6'-2" and 225 lbs.
It was pretty darn fast the last time I drove it. Probably needs a little work, but it would be a very inexpensive way to get going very fast in the sport.

it can do 3+ g's in a slalom.
i dont know about the other directions.
BTW that vw kit thing would fit in BM anyways. it has fenders. either way it would still get killed

Sitting right next to the kart are two other cars for sale:
1985 Toyota MR2 - blown head gasket, otherwise pretty clean.
1972 Honda 600 coupe - frozen brake cylinder, otherwise pretty clean.
I think my friend Dave would like to get $1k each, or $2500 for all 3.

Clearly, the A-Mod PAX is wrong!
