So glad you're ok!!!

As others have said, go to the doctor soon. When I was rear ended, the insurance company based the "pain and suffering" payment on the medical cost. At the time I was told it was 3x the medical cost. There will also be lost work time. No matter what you are compensated, it won't be worth the hassle and pain. So get to a good doctor!

Car did its job so well.
I gotta think you being in good shape is partly responsible for surviving it so well.
And luck. So many things can go horribly wrong in that sort of dynamic. You know like the tire tail landing on your head.

After my mom was killed, I look at cars completely differently. I would have never worried about driving my civic on the street or my old 914 before. I hate how heavy cars have gotten. But that's the trade for how safe they are. As much as I'd love a 2000lbs version of an S2000.... I'd rather commute in Pete's sacrificed CR. And I want my family in the safest car possible. I don't care how good a driver you are, we share the road with complete idiots.

Again, can't say it enough. So happy you walked out of this one Pete.

In my fast assessement, the engine should be fine, unless the recovery damaged the bottom side.
The chassis might be tweaked on the drivers side, mainly the B pillar.
3 of the 4 shocks should be fine.
The windshield frame looked only a little tweaked on the drivers side, slight bulge mid way up the left side.

Who knows, will have to wait to hear back from my insurance. I'm going to release it to them tomorrow evening.

Hopefully I can track down my receipts for my shocks and other stuff insurance wise.

Thinking about it, if that dirt ramp wasn't there, I would have hit the guard rail
and bounced out into traffic most likely, or even worse,
stopped cold on one of those stanchions.
Taking the airbrone route seemed to have worked out for the best oddly.

Yeah, those 4 tires were strapped together, keeping them from bouncing out into traffic causing more carnage possibly.
Their trajectory was lucky too, straight down the guard rail from me.

I have helped quite a few folks with thier claims on accidents like this, and I would be happy to make sure you get all you should from this deal.
You should also ask about retaining the salvage on this as this could be a good one to handle yourself.

Good thing you didn't hit the dirt ramp sooner, might have caused a roll over. Actually saw that on my way to Fontana on the 15 one morning. Car went off the road on the other side, up a dirt berm and then tumbled end over end.
