apparently I have the Evo ride height set way too high! I could lower it at least another 1/8" in front.

I <3 tire pics so much!
Well OK, they were the off-shoot of an assignment ... and I was actually only trying to shoot ST tires. I can work on that in the future. We ended up staging the tire shoot later in the day so we had lower light getting onto the front of the tire.
I'll also try to use my new 1/8,000th of a second time to really freeze it.
When you've opened up a photo, you can click on the Down Arrow to the upper right, to download, grab, right/click a somewhat larger file.

That's a very impressive scratch time in an STX Bimmer, Jeff.

seeing the outside tires dynamic camber at the instant they are near peak lateral force is about 8,000,000 times better than taking tire temps at the end of a run.
Seems like many of our photogs love to get the inside of the car in the good light and then take the shot broadside for that artsy, fast, blury look. You seem to get many more of the head on, outside tires well lit, no blur technical shots that I drool over for literally hours.
...i don't see no down arrow though. do want larger pics.

Yeah, me to, I already rotated my cupped front tires(easily seen in the pics) to the back at the end of my runs

Try the Down Arrow NOW. If there are a few files you want full res, let me know.
Well yeah ... that IS what I find to be the more interesting shot ... and the challenge, trying to get the car at it's highest load.
I have my screen saver typically set to go through the latest folder of photos ... filling my 27" screen ... and I love discovering cool details that one doesn't always see at first.
PLEASE folks, if you have any special requests, angles, etc ... let me know. I love a challenge and it's boring otherwise ... after years of doing this!

I think this was my last run before the x-runs.
Watching everyone else's videos I can tell it's a bit slow but it's noticeably faster than last month (which was my first ever AX).

My wife was out there taking some photos for Group 5 which I'll post once she chooses a few of the best out of the 800 she snapped

What Chi thinks is best is different from what we want to see.
I was going to delete all those tire shots; who knew there was a whole sub-set who love those shots!

Sounds like you ought to put them into their own private section of the site, "behind the curtain," and charge extra for them.

Yeah, who would have thought it? Perhaps we'll just throw them all up somewhere then.
For the record, I want one of me in my car at full opposite lock, smoke coming off the tires, and preferably a huge explosion in the background. Or maybe I just need to stop watching so much Top Gear... ;)

For those who liked the "Someone is
wrong on the internet" comic, you might really enjoy xkcd.com for a thrice-weekly comic on nerdy topics. Those who resemble the "Someone is
wrong" comic probably already know about xkcd.

Guilty

If you read it on your smartphone (as I do) make sure to visit m.xkcd.com so you can read the alt-text. Otherwise be sure to hover the mouse pointer over the image for the bonus joke.

Here is my video from Saturday practice. I got 5 runs on the video. This is shot with a very old Hero Cam that is **NOT** HD, so the video is a little rough. Since this is my first time out with this Miata, I would love input from folks on how my lines look.

looks like you're a touch behind on most transitional elements with not enough 'amplitude' in your steering to get a good backside line on the cones. So in effect you're just barely missing the cones in transitions instead of attacking them.
