Huh. Apparently Eddie Van Halen will be selling two '57 Chevys (with matching guitars, of course) at Barrett Jackson.

I was at LAX last Sunday night, with my bed cover on the evil 3500 Ram....
I fully expected to be stopped as I could hide a couple of thousand lbs of explosive in that beast. Nope...

Good thing because I had a 5 gallon VP racing fuel can in the back. "Racing gas"!!! Like that guy Pardo used in Covina!!! "Racing gas"!!! The horror! The new terrorist weapon of choice!!!

Low lead too... Not unleaded. So, any explosion would also spread evil toxic lead. Holy HazMat!!!

20 Gauge "HIGH POWERED" shotgun according to the news guy. Must have been one of those Street Sweeper 20 gauges. Where do they find these people who know zero about what they report?

The insurance company needs to total that car, your dad needs to steal it at auction, repair it, and make me a killer deal. :)

Yesterday, I got to meet the new President of the SCCA, Jeff Dahnert, who came to the Prather's Garage Night (most Thursdays). The first thing that struck me when he walked in was how much he looked like Bob Tunnell (he could be his younger brother).

Then I got a ride in Bob Bramlage's Nissan GTR. Those Bridgestone's don't grip very well when it's 2F outside, but DAMN!!! that thing is nice. Couple of runs up through the gears (well, the first 4). 120mph in a 50. And when the boost kicks in. :D

You know, for a thread whose lack of purpose is to not drift, 4 posts a day (average since new) is kind of weak. :)

Especially with the people on this board. :)

Since Julie got accepted to Vet school, we've been thinking about buying a second house (in Manhattan, KS, not in Lincoln, NE), but I'm not sure if I really want to add another $700/month in payments. An on-campus studio apartment is around $550/mo. And with the NBAF coming to Manhattan, with construction starting in 2010, along with many other companies, home prices will probably rise more than the typical (for Kansas) 1-2% a year over the next 4+ years.

There is also the possibility of having a roommate(s) to help share the cost, but not a certainty.

I don't know how convenient on-campus parking is, but it adds $150/year plus the time to get there (important for Julie).

Discuss.

On campus parking is just $150 a year? That is a no brainer.
Don't cut corners on convenience for $150 a year.
