Re: Entry List for 25th July El Toro Practice (CASOC)

Ya what Mako said, I will do the course work. Any offers?
If it doesn't work out, keep in mind there's another practice at El Toro on 8/8. I'd say your chances are good to get into that one.Joe Co wrote:Hi all, I was one of the unlucky 50 who didn't make it on the list. I am new to AutoX and was wondering if anyone would like to split their runs with me? I will gladly pay half of the entry fee.
Thanks,
Joe
Keep in mind that shared entries are co-drivers. In fact, I'm not sure we have a mechanism in place to track two cars each getting half the runs. That may be why you aren't seeing too many offers. Co-driving is a relationship you develop into. Not many people turn their keys over to new people and say 'have at it'.Joe Co wrote:Hi all, I was one of the unlucky 50 who didn't make it on the list. It can be made to work, and I confirmed with George that we will, but I wouldn't assume that any particular club will do it in their practice.Mako Koiwai wrote:At the No$ Practice Mihai and I shared my runs ... he running in his own car. Yuki, Reg and Timing accommodated us/him to allow that to happen. Originally I thought he wanted to run in one of my sessions and me in the other, but since he was doing a test between the Yok 07's and new 08's, he needed to be able to run in both sessions, so he could change tires between them.
I'm also very surprised I sent my check 1 day later and I'm CASOC member but still I didn't make itChristine Berry wrote:Priority for getting into this practice went something like this:Brett King wrote:Hey Adrian,
I sent my check in the day it was posted and I'm not on the practice list, just wondering what's up ?

People going to nationals (hence the name "CASOC Summer Picnic - BBQ - Test n Tune")
FSAE volunteers
points card holders
Considering we got enough entries to fill over 1 1/2 practices, I would say that we barely broke the surface of the fifth category. Don't be too discouraged though, the difficulty in getting into practices seems to diminish between Nationals in September and January when the new season begins.
Did you note that you were a CASOC member or RSVP on the club forum?Christos Adam wrote: I'm also very surprised I sent my check 1 day later and I'm CASOC member but still I didn't make it![]()
Don't we have some priority in our own club events?
Sorry Chris. We had the list posted on the CASOC board for 2 days waiting for issues from club members before posting the final list to the general public. The first two cancellations are already promised. You're number 3. We'll do our best to get you in.Christos Adam wrote:I'm also very surprised I sent my check 1 day later and I'm CASOC member but still I didn't make it![]()

I think I wrote in my check that I am CASOC member but I didn't check the CASOC board.George Schilling wrote:Sorry Chris. Like Steve mentioned Chris, with 100 entrants, chances are very good that we'll have enough cancellations to squeeze you in.Christos Adam wrote:I think I wrote in my check that I am CASOC member but I didn't check the CASOC board.George Schilling wrote:Sorry Chris. Believe it or not George these last few weeks were as crazy at it gets for me - going through some 6 sigma training at work and being there from 8 in the morning until 8:30 at night... too bad I didn't check :unimpressed: I was waiting this practice for so long...
That'll teach you to be a good boy Sheldon.Steve Ekstrand wrote:Adrian! Another cancellation. Sheldon Ekstrand got grounded indefinitely (all laugh and ridicule my kid brother....) so he can't run the practice.
If I may add another suggestion:-George Schilling wrote:It's going to be warm this weekend. PLEASE BE PREPARED. Here are some suggestions:
1. Bring an umbrella or a large wide brim hat. Umbrellas are allowed on course. Take advantage of this.
2. Bring plenty of water. Freeze the water bottles the night before so you have cold water all day. Take several with you when working course. Drink often.
3. Be sure to apply sunscreen.
4. Bring an ez up if you have one. You'll make plenty of new friends.
See you Saturday
Good suggestion Max. But what about the ladies?Max Hayter wrote:If I may add another suggestion:-George Schilling wrote:It's going to be warm this weekend. PLEASE BE PREPARED. Here are some suggestions:

5. Gold Bond powder, to keep your boys minty fresh and minimize and possible chaffing issues.
