Moon, Jupiter and Venus align!!!

Anyone else see this yesterday....here is a pic i took, what an amazing site...next scheduled showing 2052!!!

I was wondering what it was.
Jupiter and Venus looked incredibly bright when the fog parted.

That was cool...I didn't realize it didn't happen very often, I thought I just never paid attention.

Oh ... you have to scroll your photo to see Jup and Venus. Just went outside ... only saw street lights and haze.
Excellent shot ... neat how you can see the moon in the shadow ...

I left the speedway Sunday after the event with the top down so I could enjoy not only a great sunset but this celestial delight at the same time. How's the saying go - the sun the moon, and the stars. (OK, planets) But it was simply spectacular.

Exposure ... which is why you got the shadow of the moon to show up. Usually, when "Pros" shot the moon, they use the same exposure as if they were shooting daylight here ... since the moon is being lit by the same sun source as we are! Actually one usually opens up one stop ... since one wants the moon to be a bit on the bright side.
