Hi!
Slightly Off Topic?
Although any modest individual can appreciate a little fun and flattery from time to time, I think this thread has exceeded its quota.
Back to cars, please!!! Any takers on this one? I "hear" STS2 (STS '09) is a fun filled one!

I'm just glad everyone's too busy looking at Katy's ankles to notice my flag technique.
So besides Craig, anyone else hopping into STS next year?

I wish I could, but financially we're in wait-and-see mode, probably until summer next year. Nothing I'd like more than stickin' it to the local Maitas in STS2. ;)

Easy, Kurt; this is a family board!

I'm planning on it in an NA Miata. I'm in the shopping stages now.

Lol, thats about $7500 over my budget. I was planning on buying a little bit of a fixer and then modding it once I start making some moolah over winter break.

Seems like a good plan - I found my 96 with 130,000 miles for $2900 off a little old lady. It's tough to find a good one though, so be patient. Get one with a good body and motor and you won't go too far wrong.
I would get a pre 96 if I were you though, 96+ are OBD2 and therefore more of a pain in the neck. Read up on short nose cranks if you find an early car. Miata.net is your friend.

I was planning on a 91-93, mainly due to cost. I don't know too much about the crank. I'll have to read more about it. Worst case scenario, used engines are pretty cheap. I've been reading Miata.net religiously for the past few weeks. Tons of good info there. I can't wait to just actually get a Miata now

The "No on Prop 8" people will wave at you as you drive past - ask me how I know

Oh man! I guess the planned paint scheme of magenta with rainbow racing striped with Hello Kitty wheels won't help much.

Hi Ethan,
Great more STS(2) competitors!
As Max mentioned, Miata.net is an excellent source of information. You can also speak with Steve Coe at C2Motorsport who currently has a very competitively prepared 1.6 NA.

Another good references is Michael Heinitz (competitively prepared 1.8).
Brian Goodwin can outfit all your Miata needs at:

He may not be able to outfit you with Hello Kitty wheels, but he has some sweet stuff!

Good to have this enthusiasm for STS(2) and would love to see the large diverse fields like they have in other regions.
There is a GTUs for sale in LA.

Thanks for the links Katy, looks like I'll be getting some stuff from Good-Win in the future. Mike, thanks for the link too, but I've pretty much settled on a Miata.
