Ben, your car would be in HS is you ditched the springs and camber bolts (and it'd be very competitive to boot!). Otherwise you'll slot into the STH street touring class or you can run in CST, our open catch all class.

If you have any mods, check them against this handy spreadsheet that shows the allowances for the other prepared/modified classes.

If you have mods that bump you into an alternate class (say lowered suspension which would move you into at a minimum Street Touring or ST) then you'll need to check the full SCCA rulebook to verify which class your car falls into.

Hi guys, i have a 2013 370z Nismo, which i know is in the STU class, but i do have Cold Air Intakes, ArT Test Pipes and a Catback Exhaust System. I am also upgrading rear diff bushing to stiffer ones, and may tune my car soon. Will that kick me into a different category?

The tune and the bushings are all Street Touring legal, however your test pipe will automatically bump you up to Street Prepared (SP). I would just run STU for now, you can ask your competitors if they are ok with it as the test pipe will only give you a slight power advantage, running in SP will be brutal unless you have Hoosiers

I was hoping you guys could make sure I'm headed in the right direction with everything! So for starters, I guess I'm posting here!
I'm a new owner to a 2019 Mustang Ecoboost Performance Package for a few months now and like I mentioned above, I really want to get into this auto scene! So far I've been having a bit of a hard time finding even meets or groups. Either they aren't necessarily "accepting" or I just haven't found the right group yet, so I'm hoping this is the place I've been waiting to find!

Now that I'm registered here, where would be the next place to start?

Hi Jake, welcome to the autocross community! While chatting on the forums may be fun, driving at an event is way more fun! My recommendation would be to sign up for the next event to be held at Autoclub Speedway in Fontana on Nov. 9/10 (see this link for newcomers hosted on our main website https://www.solo2.com/newcomers).

We host two days of driving. Saturday is our long form practice day where you will run/work two sessions and will drive on average ~12-14 runs for the day. On Sunday we have our "competition" days where you run/work once for 4 runs. The competition part really only means we will count cones for time penalties which is important for those of us running in the year long points championship. Hopefully your schedule allows you to come out to either one or both days. We'd love to show you around and get you some rides in other cars (this is really only possible on Saturday, Sunday most drivers will want to be as light as possible for time!).

Welcome! I'll echo what reed said, plus you'll probably want to attend Leonard's Novice course walks on Sunday. They are filled with a wealth of information plus it's a great opportunity to meet people.

I have a few more questions actually.

If I purchase a membership, does that mean I still have to pay to go to each event? For example the 9th and 10th of November, does each day have a different price? So if I wanted to attend an event, I need to pay $70 for the membership and then have to pay on top of that? I saw on Saturday it said the entry fee was $80 and then Sunday it was $35. I'm a bit confused about this.

Also, I saw something about having a number on your car. Do I need to do this myself? Or do you have numbers there?

Scca membership comes in 2 forms a weekend membership, good for the entire weekend. Or a yearly membership (purchase at scca.com). If you buy a weekend membership and later want to but a yearly membership you can use up to two weekend membership numbers (they will email you them after the event) for credit towards a yearly membership.

Temporary numbers in the 600-699 range are required when you select the Sunday event (it's how we track your racing times) unless you purchase a points card. Paper numbers are available in a box at registration, or you can bring print and bring them.
A points card allows you to collect year end points and have a permanent number in the 300-599 & 700-999 ranges. Registration for next years points cards should open soon and will be on the same page as solo2.motorsportreg.com and you'll probably get an email too.

Hi Jake,
The primary membership to play is SCCA and can either be a weekend membership ($15) or a yearly membership ($70 for our region). This covers insurance and other benefits for you. This is mandatory. As was mentioned, up to two weekend fees can go toward a yearly membership.

There is also a membership in our autocross part of the local region which provides for the right to have a permanent number and tracking of year end points in your class. This is optional.

Event fees are how we pay for the lots we compete on (quite expensive) and the other expenses of putting on events. Yes, Saturday and Sunday are separate events, even though it's a single link on Motorsportreg, you choose what you are entering at checkout.
