San Diego is not doing local points events so the numbering system will be different.
We will be using 1-99, 101-199 (2nd driver only) for each class.

San Diego is running SK1 & SK2 as well as SU (which will be the same as CSM for the divisional).
The rest of the classes for the San Diego divisional will be SCCA classes.

The course will be open for walking Friday at 3:00 pm.
Tech and registration are Friday 5 - 7 pm and Saturday 7 - 8 am.

There will be a social at Friday registration and lunch Saturday. You are on your own for Sunday.
The lunch wagon will be there all wekend.

See you there!

Any recommended hotels?
If you're going swank, you'll want to stay downtown or in the Mission Bay/Airport area. They have the usual suspects: Sheraton, Marriott, Omni, Hyatt, Radison, etc.) Those are about 10 min from Qualcomm.

If you're willing to go a little more downscale, Hotel Circle has tons of hotels (Days Inn, Comfort Inn, TraveLodge, Ramada, etc.). That's a straight shot down the 8, about 5 min (less if you drive with a lead foot).

Here's a list of hotels in Hotel Circle

Thanks Kurt. Since it is just me, I'll probably go budget.

Hotels off I-8 east of I-15 will be your best bet.
Stay away from hotels SOUTH of I-8, east of I-15.

Just make sure to make a reservation. It's summer, and a lot of beachgoers use Hotel Circle hotels, so sometimes they're booked solid.

If you're dieing for overpriced, but somewhat worth it, there's the Hard Rock.

Hey Mark!

I'd like to do a short family day at the Zoo on Friday. How early can I drop the trailer off in the paddock on Friday.

Also any idea where I can park/"camp" Thursday night if we go down Thursday and do SeaWorld.

Sorry been out of town on vacation.
We will be setting up early Friday am so you can bring the trailer down anytime on Friday.
There are camping places at Mission Bay but it's summer and busy season.
Maybe there is a KOA somewhere in San Diego?

There's a great campground at San Elijo State Beach in Cardiff. However, it's really popular, and I'd guess it's sold out this late.

SDAD (San Diego club) is doing a test n tune Friday from 9:00 - 3:30.

Cost is 3 runs for $5.

Robbie Robinson is in charge so direct questions to him.

You will have to tech for the test n tune since tech for the divisional is not open till 5:00 pm.

Also the test n tune is open to all SCCA members - you do not have to be in the divisional to run the test n tune.

LAST MINUTE SIGN UP for San Diego.

Don't get left out, this will prove to be a can't miss. If you're new, this would be a great first 'Travel' event if your new. I'm seeing a lot of Arizona driver's popping up in the registration now as well.

I've been crunching some numbers (yeah, I know). Some of the classes have exploded with entrants, so if you're looking for strong competition check out SS, AS, CSP, STS, STS2, STU, SM.

If you're a sandbagger, there's a bunch of classes that are near qualifying for cash, but have no stong winner; FS, XP, EP, DM, F125, DSPL, SK1, SK2 and CSM/SU.

So bring out your boys.
