just curious how we figure averages. it looks like Richards average for SEP should be 87.5, 700 div by 8. but for him to have 996.130 w/3 drops he would have needed an 100 points for SEP

it doesn't look like the stuff right of the decimal point is correct either
800 + 98.982 + 97.535= 996.517
700 + avg of 87.5 + 98.982 + 97.535 = 984.017

or does my calculator need new batteries and me a good nights sleep?

7.4 CLASS AVERAGE: A driver’s average shall be calculated per the following
formula:

A = t/E

A= The average to be calculated
t= Total points earned by the driver in his/her Class
E= Number of CSCC SOLO Regional Championship events the driver competed in and earned points in.

I bolded and underlined the important part.

Therefore, Rick's average is 99.613
Rick's total is 896.517 + 99.613 = 996.130

so his SEP avg wasn't fixed at that time, it changes every time you enter and event?









this is just another version of the uncertany principle, isn't it...

correct (on both counts)

It is the same reason that John Fendel highlights some of the team points and indicates that they will be affected by averages because you only know what your final average is after the season is over.
