The Flyer is up and registration is open for the January 24th and January 25th practices that will be at the 'inside the oval' parking lots of AutoClub Speedway (Cal Speedway).
Flyer/Reg Link
Registration is via Paypal. This is a prototype online reg for a practice, so be patient if its not working perfectly.
The practice will be limited to 60 entrants per day, expect 12 to 15 runs per entry on a 40-50sec course.
The costs of this event are subsidize by sharing the venue space with Papa CalClub. So entry fees are as follows (per day)
Cal Club Members (Region 19) - $30
Non-CalClub Members - $40
Jr Karts (Sat Only) - $20
Shared Entry - +$10
SCCA Weekend membership - +$5 (collected onsite).
As an added bonus the Solo group along with others will be offered a free paced parade lap around the big track at lunch time. Passengars and equipment are unrestriced.
I'll be pushing the avertising on this event, so get those entries in early.

This is an E-board event, so I'm calling for a couple volenteers to help put on this weekend practice.
Specifically, I need
SCCA member volenteer(s) to be Chief of Registration each day: Pre-reg is already taken care of, so for the most part this will just be driver check in. Registration will have to collect SCCA weekend memberships, help with worker sign up and have waivors availible.
SCCA member volenteer(s) to be Chief of Tech each day: Just teching cars in the morning.
A volenteer to lead course set-up (Saturday only): I'll have a rough design on paper, but courses always need some tweaks when put to asphault.
All the above will get free entries into the practice on for the day they volenteer.
I'll also need a few general volenteers to help Saturday morning with set up and Sunday afternoon with clean up.

Any idea what the "Pace" will be?

Sure would be fun to "leg-out" the Miata!

Just don't do a Motonishi, ie. almost spin ... like he did during the parade lap at the JGTC race weekend at the Spd Way ... in front of a grandstand full of spectators!
Here he describes the incident:

Be prepared - in order to take a "Pace" you have to be lined up at Grid & released by the Grid personnel - You all know who that is!!!!

I signed up for Saturday but didn't see a way to "specify preferred work group" during checkout.
Also, for a shared entry are we in the same or different work groups?

Use the comment field for work group specify, but in this style it's not going to make much difference.
Shared entries also share a work group, work that out amongst yourself and the other driver.

It's not a land rush, but spots are going at a regular clip for the practice, especially Saturday's spots.
Also, this is suppose to be toted as a newbie friendly entry event. So lets all go out there and invite those newbie. I'd appreciate it if we could spread the word to various marquee and motorsport interest groups about this practice weekend. It'll probably be the best run for your $ count we're going to see all year by far.

This is true...regular clip as I see the PayPal payments coming into my e-mail. Good for the coffers of baby Cal Club

How many people will be allowed to sign up? I have heard that many times on the inside course, you almost get to run too much? Will running too much be a problem this time?

60/day, expect 15ish runs. Nobody is going to be forced to run, if you're done, drop out of line.
