"Here are two pics of the new RE-11's. The first is of a 205/50/15 and measures right at 8.35 inches wide. The second pic is of a 195/50/15 and measures 7.95 inches wide. So, almost a half inch difference between the two. Just FYI."

The Potenza RE-11 is an Extreme Performance Summer tire developed for enthusiastic sports car, sports coupe and performance sedan drivers. The Potenza RE-11 is designed to combine traction, handling and driving control with good noise and ride comfort. The Potenza RE-11 is tuned for dry and wet conditions, but like all summer tires is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

The Potenza RE-11 is the first Potenza street tire to incorporate Bridgestone's 3D Seamless Stealth technology originally introduced in their Formula 1 and GP2 racing tires. The Potenza RE-11 features an asymmetric tread pattern that combines massive outboard independent shoulder blocks interlocked with a notched circumferential intermediate rib that provides the lateral stiffness needed to enhance steering response and increase dry cornering traction. Inboard, a continuous intermediate rib and notched shoulder rib are separated by wide, straight circumferential grooves that provide water evacuation to resist hydroplaning and enhance wet traction.

The tire's internal structure features a custom designed asymmetric shape that helps distribute footprint pressure more evenly by keeping the straighter outboard sidewall from “falling down” while helping the more rounded inboard sidewall resist “falling awaty” during aggressive cornering. Two wide steel belts reinforced by spirally wound nylon provide strength, uniform ride quality and high-speed capability.

Anything new? Last I heard mid-March availability. Makes it a big ol' question mark for our West Coast national stuff.

And with the Toyo 225/195 is Bridgestone going to be relevant?

Looks like it might be able to keep up with a Toyo R1R.

:D

I'm sure it's faster. Nobody should bother with the Toyos... ;)

That's right even when you have 225/45-15s sitting at the front (and possibly the rear) of the Civic. They totally suck. Bridgestone boys should wreak havoc in the class.

Ignore the tires sitting on the UPS truck.... Next to the 2812's....

I hear the Hankooks are still the way to go....

He's not joking, I just called Tire Shoppe and they gladly spilled the beans. :!:

This tire race is killing me, part of the reason I got into the class was decreased expense compared to STX.
I keep saying "this is the last mod and it'll be fully prepped" but then something else comes up. :mrt:

Seb- Behind the 8-ball again.

Yeah, but Seb..... You have talent. And added lightness.

I have to compensate with a platinum card.

BTW- Joe says these have been available since Nov 1 or so. We're slow....

We've managed to completely hijack this thread! :|

Front was sitting up on jack stands. Didn't feel like pulling her out in the rain.

With that .250 wall bar, you really need a 225 in the back for non-alien drivers.

ST civics will never be fully prepped... there is always "something". And with the way street tires are progressing... its only the beginning of VERY interesting classes (ST, STS, STX, STU) that really demands the skill and knowledge in preparation and understanding of the car.

back on topic... the RE-11's look to be very promising and should be in my budget for this coming year.

I bet the rears would fit better with 91 trailing arms. :)
