Details/options for a car hauler

So I'm this close ll to ordering.
What details/options would you suggest.
Steve E said brakes on both axles - check
extra tie downs - check
unpainted deck (paint delete) so I can put some good sealer on it.
Where do I specify the tie downs on an 18 ft for a c5 Vette? I assume the extra's go mid point between the car tie downs. So six or eight tie downs? May be occasional furniture hauler, etc.
controller for trailer brakes (what brand?) The Carson lady said theirs is not so good (nice of her).
alum ramps (where to buy)
take off fenders ($100 each option) Both sides?
What else?
How do I tie it down?
Park brake on/off?
In/out gear?
Total noob - never had one.

I like (and have) the Prodigy by Tekonsha. I haven't looked in several years though, so I'm not sure what is the best anymore.

I like the Prodigy brake controller, also. Two removable fenders because you never know when a car will have to go on backwards!

Carson removable fenders are a royal pain in the ass. You should look at one before ordering. Better to just try and get the door above the fender.

Set the parking brake after you've tightened down the straps. Leave the car in neutral.

For a race tranny, we always left them in neutral, but street trannies? Why, just increases the risk in case of straps loosening or failing.

GM does not agree with you. They spec all cars are in gear for manuals, and park for ATs.
I don't drive or race GM car...

Strap the car properly. An e-brake and/or the trans in neutral won't keep the car on the trailer if the straps come loose.

I put 12 tie downs on my open trailer
4 accross the front and rear evenly spaced and 2 on each side also evenly spaced.
Has worked out great for both car tie down and other stuff,
and I did haul my 99 and 96 Vette on this trailer.
