How much KJ? I'm interested... just really broke, but I'd like to know how much I'd need to save up, haha.

I'm guessing we'd still need to get it balanced @ a shop.

Lately I've been seeing them between $800 and $1500 on craig's list. There is an italian job on there now that looks interesting.

I generally get my tires mounted for $10 each. Spent $100 today on flipping and swapping. Seems like even for personal use, it would pay for itself in a short time. With the expected inflation in the coming years, you could probably sell it for more than you paid sans a technological breakthrough. But that's not likely in our new socialist economy.

I've had my tire machine for a couple of years. It hasn't paid for itself (yet) but it sure is easier/faster/cheaper than bringing wheels/tires to the tire store. Flipping tires is a no brainer, no more asking "will the $50 it'll cost to get these flipped get me $50 extra treadlife?" Once you have a tire machine you'll want a balancer, it suck to mount daily driver tires at home an then have to go to the tire shop to get them balanced.

Unless you have a big compressor (or are willing to work slowly) you'll want a machine with an electric turntable.
