Rally photos from Calgary/Cochrane Rally

Post by Reijo Silvennoinen »

Just for something different. Motorsports is not dead up in the Great White North in the winter! Think I may have to take up rally if I'm going to stay up here ... ;)

Anyway, this past weekend's annual rally in Cochrane, Alberta (less than 1/2 hr. west of Calgary....and then NW of there for the gravel roads) was held and there were some spectacular photos taken from what I saw.....thot you might be interested. Why are all the Sti's in the ditch - killing snowmen?

Yeah, I did not have time to run out there to spectate or work....worked on Sat. and took Sunday off ...

Apparently there was lots of action out there- slightly slippery roads varying in places made for challenging conditions and quite a few "offs"....no rolled cars etc. tho' although that one looks pretty close!

Thanks David! I guess he was still uploading photos when I went through them.....lots more there now. I notice there was another photo of the same car without the foglight cover on the passenger side/lower front ... assuming that was after the roll-over since in one of the impending roll-over photos I can see the cover coming off ... that would mean he still was racing later??? I'll have to find out for certain.

Looks like Kris got a series of shots of that STi roll-over and put them together - photo in the collection:
