This month doesn't count because we were out racing when it was posted.

So I assume this...

"RECOMMENDED TO THE B.O.D.
- ITEM 1) Move the Mini Cooper S from GS to DS."

...means the BOD will vote on it soon and it'll either happen or not happen in the next month or two? If the Mini gets moved to DS, I think my car buying decision is made for me. How long does it generally take for them to vote on stuff that's recommended to them?

It's a scary move to make a new car purchase based on SCCA rules that could easily change again. If the MCS gets put into D stock doesn't that make my index easier? :?:

I've heard the BOD has only turned down two recommended items from the SEB in the past. It's essentially a done deal, but I'd still wait to hear about the outcome if I were you.

What are you thinking of buying Kurt?

Mike

At this point it's a toss up between a WRX and a Mini Cooper S. If the Mini moves to DS, it might be enough to sway my decision toward the WRX...or maybe not

I can't find the pax numbers anywhere easily, but I think the GS pax is slightly softer than the DS pax if memory serves.

Correct me if I'm wrong Mike...

I believe that with a entry like that then the change goes into effect on 1/1/10. So for the 2009 racing season, the Mini S stays in GS but next year it will be in DS. In general the BOD just rubber stamps most eveything that the SEB recommends all in one chunk at the end of the year.

So, followed the link for the full document from the SCCA e-mail, and: Server Error 404, document not found.

I believe you are correct, but I've been told the BOD withheld their approval on two items in the past, one of which was a proposal for GP.

In general, yes: BOD approval is a rubber stamp. I don't know if there is any controversy on this proposal or if it may be caught up in controversy related to other Stock proposals. (Reorg? Sunset clause?) I'd hate to see Kurt featured on "Buying Decisions Gone Bad" though...

Didn't a few connected people jump over the SEB to the BOD to get STX a made class?

Seriously, he's considering autocrossing a WRX. That's about as bad a decision as you can make. :barf:

Witness the number of former Subaru fan boys now autocrossing other cars.
