I would say it mark those who earn points under the old scoring system. I think it was a lttle earlier than '95. I'll look in my old files since it was my idea to change it.

What do the blue highlights mean?

The blue highlights indicate competitors that had 4000 or more points in 2000. For those people I was able to start with those totals and add the scores going forward from 2001. The people without the blue had less than 4000 points or had not competed before 2000. I had to go back and compile the points from events before 2000 to come up with their totals.
