Just when I was thinking of running the 2 ACS Corvette Challenge events.
I did run an SV event on that track once and the point to pass rule is pretty much a joke. I would come up on a slower car for 1/2 a lap and come to a pass zone and never get a point.
Eventually you just blow by them.
The flaggers may as well have the flag up you know where, don't see them used much.

Well I've run with speedventures so many times and have not had one incident and I will gladly go with them again.
Irresponsible drivers always ruin it for other people.

I am not saying SV is any better or worse than other promoters. Once you are on track with other drivers, some more experienced, some less, some 1st time, you are very much at the "mercy" of the flaggers & drivers.

I think our time on the freeways is more dangerous (well considering how much time we spend on them) ... watch out driving up to SoW ! ;)
Chad just did a NASA HPDE at Buttonwillow ... and loved it. NASA is great in that you have an instructor with your for your first two stages ... and so do all of the other newbs. The In car instructors OK passes.

Three S2Ks slide off the track and its a freakin' disaster? Really? Gettin' a little dust in the interior must really piss those guys off.

well, i think one or 2 of them went for flying lessons, so it was more than just a little "off". besides, going through the S's is touchy enough as is, add some coolant makes even the most skilled driver pucker, i bet.

no, none of that from what i gather. just flying lessons.
not the whimpy 6"-off-the-ground type though, the several feet up.
i can't imagine what that'd feel like.

It's because it's so tight in the car it's hard to vacuum

One s2k sliding off is a disaster, this is a MASSACREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
It's the interwebs, we prefer dramatic words. except Mako, who thinks it's just a lil incident

I heard one car had some severe damage to the blue masking tape over the front air damn lip. The abrasions caused the glue residue to smear badly into the paint. Also a Hello Kitty plastic box left in one of the gloveboxes is sad to have left some painfully visible scratching to the interior compartment walls.

As I tell anyone who cares: Don't drive a car on a race track that you're not willing to throw away. If you like the car enough to waste your time putting blue masking tape and a bra on it, don't take it on a race track.

Iono John, everything underneath the blue tape seems to be safe... }:)
I remember when I finally got my car painted last year & body kit put on - took her to horsethief mile w/in a couple weeks, taped her up, then went off course (luckily no flip)

The tape took up "some" of the damage - just kept telling myself "It's just a track car, it's just a track car"

I had gone off track at Buttonwillow one time at 75 mph and the first thing I thought was "damn no blue tape!"

God at work.
If you are so stupid you'd cover your grill, I don't want to be on an open track with you.
Thank you God for looking out for the rest of us.

I think it only works on paint, your car is a lost cause.

It is some type of low tack vinyl. We used it on our SSC Sentra at Buttonwillow, good to 100+mph.
