First sample shots up. It will probably be Monday before I can get everything uploaded. I probably shot every car about 10 times.

The SAMPLE photos for the Practice are at the very end of the Album (mainly shots of friends):

I believe that's Steve Abbott driving Michael's 'Stang:

Only what's posted on pages 12 thru 15 ... depending on the run groups, I didn't get everyone on Sunday ... since I was also driving.

Yeah ... I thought he looked too short ... figured it was the racing seat maybe?

What a fun weekend! It is very nicely documented as well! I especially love the picture of Nathan, Forest, Eric and I trying to figure out what is wrong with the MR2.

I will definitely be picking up some photos :D

BTW: Does anyone know Steves last name and/or has his email. I would like to thank him for helping me drive the FD and giving me a ride in his FC. His instruction cut 3-4 seconds off my time! :gpower:

That's him. Use the find other users on the solo2 site. Any word on the MR2 transmission?

OK I need your help. Anyone that may have seen the smoke from my car in the pics #553 and 554 of the yellow and red RX7 in the middle of a turn if you can chime in and let me know if that was brake lock up or something with the motor hick up or something I would really like to know. That was a lot of smoke and I'm not sure exactly where on course that pic was taken. Thanks

Steve O'Blenes

thanks Mako!!

steve i was watching your car closely in corner 2 and didnt notice anything strange

your front inside wheel was locking if i recall correctly

did anyone see any smoke out of the back of my red mr2 v6 ? a few people thought maybe they did see light smoke or possibly just dust - wondering if i need a catch can - kinda a bummer my car started popping out of gear after lunch but i think i have a few ideas to solve the issue

what is the gents name of the gt3 - what a guy!!... that car is on a razors edge.. i think more air pressure in the front and less in the rear would help simmer things down a bit - something like 38f 30r to start

yes the slalom is great for practice and for testing after making a set up change

I have owned that car for more then 3 years and have never really felt confident in my ability to handle it. Something just clicked yesterday and I am ecstatic about it! Thank you for working with me Steve! I may be running a full 10lbs boost next event. :D

And thank you for that last second Leonard. Karen’s instruction got me a second as well! You all are great!

I think it just needs its fluid changed *crossing fingers* we dropped it off at out mechanics on the way home from El Toro yesterday. We were going to have him do some stuff to it anyways so it worked out. Thanks for the concern! I will let you know when I find out.

The big concern is now that you feel more comfortable with your car, when are you going to come out again? It's all about seat time ... and if you take a break now, you might lose the confidence that you've built up. Of course you have the San Diego events to go to. Note that some of our more crazy drivers do BOTH events in one day. Sometimes they have to get permission from their class competitors but they'll run their class in one city and the run up to the other event to run again in the afternoon. THAT'S when you know you're really hooked!

Some of our drivers, like the Rio's have now done 13 out of 15 weekends so far this year! They recently remembered that they also have a child. Luckily David is now a Big Boy. ;)

Nice pictures, but Mako after telling me you saw me drive every fifth car, you don't have any pics of me driving my car, but plenty of others driving my car.

I didn't think you had a chance to drive your own car! It was funny hearing you say that your shoulders were sore from all of those spirited Instructional runs in everyone else's Z.

Yeah, I don't have another event planned yet. I am sorry but I can't stand how SCNAX does their work group rotation. I can pick up cones for a little over an hour at a time but last time I did an S.D. event I was cone picking for well over 2 hours. I have not been able to convince my brother to go to another autocross because of the S.D. event.

Is it fair if I do the Novice school? I have been to 4 (I think?) autocrosses.

I also found that TART is doing an event on May 16th. No awkward 2+ hour work groups there. I just called Rick and looks like I will be attending that event. WOOT!

Go ahead and sign up. Worse they could say is no.

I may still try to sign up for the school. It is a bit expensive though.

I just talked to Rick and we will be attending the TART event on the 16th. :D

Jamie, you *do* know we have a Championship this Sunday at Cal Speedway, right? It's just a short shot up I-15 for you...

2 hours short?

I was thinking about it. I don't know if Nathan is working this Sunday. I would share the MR2 with him though. The drive is not bad with company :D

2 hours ... are you sure? Mapquest shows 1:42 minutes Qualcomm to CA Spdway ... at a leisurely pace. ;)

... why wouldn't you share the RX7 with Nathan ... nice new tires, etc.
