Congrats Annie
Wins L2 by a mile, wins the Ladies Challenge over Meredith and her times were faster than all the men in Bump 2 as well.
Pretty freaking impressive if you ask me :gpower:

Iain's BMW is fun, to say the least, and it was a PERFECT course for a FSP car... it was very, very nice to do so well and beat the boys - looks like I ended up pretty high in PAX overall, too!
But let's just say after doing the Pros in both Lincoln and Blytheville, uh, I'm even MORE glad Nationals is in Lincoln!

What's more fun to drive, a FSP BMW or well handling STU STI?

Well, I hope I can say mine is "well handling" after the next local pro/event... I'm hopeful with all the changes I've made!
I wouldn't want your old brain to have to think back that far you know :gpower:

Well-handling is synonymous with B-M-W. Not with Subaru. Think more rally-style handling when it comes to Subaru
Congrats Annie

Actually, I believe "Shopping Kart" is synonymous w/BMW.

One of the pushiest cars I've ever driven was a D-Stock BMW 330ci... I've heard similar about the new 335's, too! And you can't beat four wheel burnouts in the snow like I can do in my STU car - yummy!

What was wrong with the course that caused
HS to be 1-2 in PAX?

The course wasn't what I'd call tight (lots of people in 3rd, or close to it) but it was full of transitions (rather than sweepers) - and the start "straight" was very short...

From this video (Craig Wilcox BSP EVO) it looked pretty fast and flowing. The finish seemed odd in that it looks like you had to go a long way to make it back to the timing trailer/start.
Congratulations! by the way ;)

Same goes for the BMW 135i. Slip on (pun intended) a limited-slip differential and NOW you're talking!

I think that's what happens to Rain when it freezes. It seems to rain a lot up in Washington State correct Annie?

Course went out instead of crossing back over on itself

The transitions were offset enough to give the speed maintenance type cars a little advantage, hence seeing the PAX results you do. Also, since it's on an airstrip, there simply wasn't the width to play with, so it was a short launch straight then the courses separated... Came back toward the timing trailer then a sweeper going away again. Again, insufficient width to have runoff room pointing toward the grid.
The courses were fun in my opinion, but that may be biased since it suited the car I drove!!

You ain't talking until you get front camber adjustment on that 135i. Othewise, even with an LSD, you'll be cording the outside of front H tires in 16 runs instead of eight. Navid Kahangi had brand new H tires for his 135i at the SD Tour and he and his son couldn't even finish their respective six run before the outside of the front tires were corded. 300 HP and 300 TQ + no front camber=

And negative camber up front is tough to dial into a car with struts. That's one reason (of a few) I'm not looking at the 135 for my next car.

And the 3rd HS driver in 9th. But there are also 4 FSP drivers in the top 11.
For both classes, some very good drivers, and the Pro PAX is a little off for some classes (CS, ES, GS, HS, CSP, FSP, to name a few).
This is not to take anything away from Annie's great drive, just her L2 margin of victory. Apparently, the person making the Pro PAX was unaware of how much the newer Hoosier sizes (275-15 and 255-13) have helped the smaller SP cars.
And Mark Madarash's results might argue against speed maintenance. And watching some of the cars make up time in the finish chute (Strelnieks) was impressive.

:barf: I guess this is BMW AG's way of protecting the "M division". By making it virtually impossible to mod a non-M car to handle well on the track. But it is a GREAT daily-driver!
