Brought home the new rig this afternoon!
We're officially Trailer Trash.

I think the hitch height is a little too low. The trailer is nose down a bit.

Looks Awsum - Now - sell the house, move into the trailer with the car, stop paying taxes, move to a different location every week so the IRS can't find you - then you might be trailer trash, if you can lose the lawyer-speak and develope a back hills drawl.
It does look like you are ready to go anywhere. Congrats!

Do you think once the car/trailer is loaded up that the trailer will sit more level?

The trailer is designed to carry alot of rear weight.

In the pics, not only is the rear cargo area empty, but the 48 gallons in fuel tanks are empty too (located in the rear). So, atleast another 3,000lbs will be from the axles back. I think that will help. But my hitch is still a couple inches lower than other fifth wheels I looked at. Part of it is.... Doesn't anybody drive 4x2's anymore???

I have blocks to drive the truck rear tires on to get the rear of the trailer down for car loading. But I'd like to get the trailer level in its normal traveling position. So, if I can't raise the hitch a little, I may have to look into air bags.

Tows nice. Got about 13mpg on the trip home, but thats a pretty short sample.

I figure the rig will weigh close to 30K lbs once Stacey finishes unloading the bags from Costco, Target, and Camping World to stock this beast.

I'm also thinking once the car is out, there will be much more room for a stripper pole than in Chez Whitehead.

Yup, its Topeka bound. And I don't need to worry about the shortage of hotel rooms at Packwood.

The hitch isn't too low. It's a Gear Box. It's made for the desert. 10" lift and 40" Swampers...

Are you going to go with a bolt-in pole or one of the "portable" ones that clamps in place? I'd recommend a bolt-in pole custom made to the size you need. We have a clamp-in pole on loan }:) and it seems like it needs a fairly stiff floor and ceiling to be able to take full side loads.

Hey, hey, hey. The pole we did, worked great. Unfortunately, we sold the video rights to the proof of this for a couple of extra lap dances.

This weekend I was talking to our rally service crew who has a very similar 5th wheel trailer. On their first trip towing the trailer which happened to be from socal to maine, they had 8 blowouts because the tires supplied with the trailer were crap. I'm not saying your trailer came with crap tires but it would be a good idea to make sure they have more capacity than you need.

I think I'd raise the hitch some. Doesn't look like much clearance between the trailer and bedrails. Before we raise ours it was a pain in the butt having to nearly stop, look out the back window, check if the corner of the trailer is going to hit the truck bed, at any intersection/parking lot/driveway with any elevation change.

The tires have a high load rating. But.....

They are Greenball's "top tire". Not sure what rep Greenball has. Sounds scary.

We had a discussion on tires last week. A friend sent me this from ABC on tire dates. New apperance or not, especially RV tires, they could be years old.

Couldn't hurt to check the dates and if they are past 1 year, make the dealer replace 'em.

I'd hate to lose 2 good drivers (and 1 future one) for an old "new" tire

It's a 2007 model year trailer, so it's a safe bet that the tires are more than a year old. And that was part of the "discount" price.

The good news is that the Tire Rack carries that size in Goodyear Marathons, and they're only $120 each. The bad news, you have to buy 7.
