Main page (includes all challenges with regular results) --> SCCA Packwood ProSolo - Results (Rd. 6)

Our very own Mr. McWho himself (Scott McHugh) almost wins Super Challenge (comes in 2nd place) but does win his class (A-Stock).
Congrats also to Mr. Rios for winning Street Touring eXtreme (STX) with fellow Cal Clubber Mihai Surubariu close behind in 2nd place (5 tenths) back.
And Eric Clements for winning Formula 125cc (F125).
And Christine Berry for edging out Annie Bauer in Ladies Class 2 (L2)
And another Berry (by association :) ) Mr. Marshall Grice beating out a former Cal Clubber (and foreigner - Canadien Reijo Silvennoinen) in Bump Class 2.

Congrats to all the Cal Clubbers and friends who trophied!!!

What was up with the right side course, lots-o-action. i.e. cones and red lights, a second slower, and drama as it seems....????

Any videos?

Seb was Mr. Zen this weekend. I've never seen him look so relaxed!

Courses were fun and challenging for many on the back half. Mirror image was a relative term here, because the right side was harder, and a full second slower. I think more red lights than normal were due to really close competition in many classes. Early AS leader Dahl pushed me to do .500 and .515 lights in Sat afternoon runs.

Co-driver Tom McDaniel had a great drive, earning a 3rd in AS on his last 2 runs, by .023 :D

In the challenge final, I had a sleepy first side, letting Stacey get me by 1.3 on time :sleepy: On the other side I was incentivized by my defecit, and beat Stacey by 1.3, but .036 short of the win....oh well, close, but no cigar :(

I think Shauna and Seb will be back, as they said they seemed to really enjoy the Packwood experience

Scott

Mihai wanted to go work today, so they had to drive all the way back non-stop.

Yeah , Seb Rulled :). He was WAYYY relaxed , I guess taking 1 week vacation and not being under any pressure helped... My only excuse is that I ran right after Shauna and the tires were kinda hot 8-) ... But really Seb drove really well ... and I overdrove Big time ... I was too worried with calculating points , hopng Karl doesn't beat us ... Either way It was a good weekend. Packwood Rocks !!! Having to work after a 17 hour drive dowsn't .... At leas my goal of robbing Karl of some points worked }:)
STU was a really nice thing to watch as were bunch of other battles.
Interesting protest in STX ... With Kevin Shultz's car being found guilty of having FEW illegal mods ... including Turbo heat wrapping, Non stock heat shield, reflective tape on the Intercooler, Silicone intercooler Y pype ... and the shocker STI V7 hood scoop  (I would have never spotted that).
I did not get protested for my semi legal side Skirt :)
And apparently Shauna really likes My WRX allthough Seb says it could be more oversteery and have less Wheel spin ...

That's all for now , I will go back and pretend I am awake and productive ....

Busted.... Maybe you can to change the tags to "guy who destroyed the field at a Pro on indexed time". Or "guy who needed to sandbag more."

Good times!
Not my first national level win, (Atwater 07), but my first Pro Solo win! Driving Mihai's car was like putting on an old broken in pair of shoes...it just fit.
Thanks again Mihai for the co-drive, we would not have had such a great trip without your generous offer. Also thanks leaving the door open Sunday! ;)

I'm glad to say that even if the #95/#195 had not been found out of compliance I still would have won, that's a real confidence booster.

Shauna had fastest STX right side run, and would have placed 3rd in open (I think she would have had to beat me to qualify for the Ladies' challenge though :o )

You guys and gals in ST better be on your game Sunday, Shauna and I are on fire and the Civic is working well! }:)

That plus having Ken waaaaaaay off his game and we might have a relatively close race ... for a change.

 Shhhhhhh! You're only going to piss him off, then you're in trouble. He might buy a Miata, prep it and run it in SST just to show you how far off his game he is

Seems like Seb might be better Zen'ed out then On Fire ... like the Zen Meister himself.

The On Fire Seb is the Cone Killer Seb ...

I already have a Miata (Shauna has a Miata), as a matter of fact, it's the same kind as Karen's, and I have been toying with the Idea of prepping it for STR... }:)
I really need to learn how to drive a RWD platform before I show anybody anything though.

Edit: Or I could just run the Civic or WRX in SST... :sleepy:

How do the Pro Solo season points work for people that get stuck in the bump classes?

I hate posting right after myself, but oh well. More posts for me!

You get class points based on your finishing position amongst the other competitors from your class in the bump class.

meaning if you are 4th in bump2 but the only person in BSP you get first place points for BSP. You just don't win any contingency for "winning" an under subscribed class.

So far co-driving that Miata is working out great for Mako... But thanks to the Pro you also know what it feels like to get beat by your girl, so go for it.

245-35-17s might help keep you out of 3rd gear. :unimpressed:
