I wanted to take a moment to thank all those that help make our final weekend of the year at El Toro a great one.

As usual, of event chiefs preformed wonderfully and made my job as event chair much easier. But help also came from unexpected places. I saw lots of new faces stepping up this weekend and volunteering their time. At the practice I observed a guy who had just come off working course who had gone back to his car, slathered some sun block on his face, and was heading back on course when I stopped him. He said he was heading back out as they seemed to be short handed. WOW. This was just one of many acts of stepping up that I observed this weekend.

Clean up was done in record time thanks to the many who offered help after the event . In less than an hour, the entire lot was clean, the motorhome and trailer packed, connected, and on it's way back to it's home @ AAA Speedway where it will be waiting for our next event the weekend of Sept 26 & 27 .

I usually don't like to name names, but I always break that rule. I'm just going to do it once today. Brett King has only been with us for 4 months, yet this weekend he agreed to take on the task of worker chief. And did he come through in more ways than one. Not only did he perform his position admirably, but when the need arose, he stepped up and worked a corner on course when we had some workers not report to work. After the event he stayed to help with the clean-up effort. He got see first hand how much work volunteer effort it takes to put one of these events on. But without people like Brett, we would be dead in water in no time.

So to wrap things up, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all who helped, and especially those that gave extra this weekend. And remember, these events don't just happen, it takes volunteers. If you enjoyed yourself this weekend, be sure to come back and get involved. See you at the next event.

I will say it wasn't all that bad to people who are on the fence about volunteering... You're there anyway, so it actually gives you something to do instead of being bored and walking around doing nothing. ;)

I wouldn't mind it getting to be as fast as that clunker ;) 1st in PAX ??? Not too shabby for a clunker...

Mike's M3 is the fast one. Mikes Mcoupe hasen't been out of the garage in years, last I heard it was a large shoe shaped dust collection device

Driving the motorhome back to Fontucky was awesome...NOT. It makes weird creaks and random groans, and when the transmission downshifted to make it up a 1% grade, I thought the thing was going to blow-up. Once I learned to ignore the sounds it was OK.
Note for next time: Remember to close all of the cupboards before driving.

I thought it drove great up to Lone Pine. Put the cruise control on set at 70 and it just went. Only place it slowed down was up Cajon Pass. Of course I wasn't towing the trailer, and I was comparing to how it was before Eric spent all that time on it replacing suspension stuff. Back then it was scary to drive.

Hood Prop v2.1 includes stickers. v2.2 should be on site in Lincoln: the cardboard, stickers and New! model number will all be sealed against inclement weather with that stuff you sprayed on your artwork in kindergarten.

v3.0 should be released by September 25th. It's a serious upgrade though, with a monthly charge. For a mere $2500 a month you get the services of one Paul Whitehead, prop handler extraordinaire. For $3000 a month we'll remove Mr. Whitehead from your service...

Naw, it was fine. Although, Shauna did say I was riding the shoulder by a good 3 feet. Seems to be better going faster.
It is much better than last time I drove it. I did think that the trans was awful loud though. We should check the fluid.

+1 For all the volunteers that work so hard. Folks like George, Rick, Tom Berry, Mike, Rene, Gayle, and a many others make the whole thing work. Another pat on the back for Brett - a new guy stepping up to shoulder some of the load. Good job by all.

On Sunday I worked course during the 4th run group - the folks that volunteered to shag cones get my "Stars of the Day" award. We would have had a mess at our station (4) without them. I think station 3 got a couple also. Thank you.

I was shocked to see how much work actually goes into setting up a course for the weekend. I was told "We had a lot of people" and it still took over 4hrs to set everything up on Friday.

My hat goes off to the organizers for being there and working Fri, Sat, and Sun. It was a pleasure working with you all, and I look forward to working with you again.

I'd especially like to thank George for putting up with my inexperience. Thanks.

My car number was 600 (SM Novice), I didn't see it in your videos, or I might have missed it.

Paint your car school bus yellow and you can just scroll through at max speed and still find all the instances of your car, haha.
