I am looking for Home Design Software so I can envision an addition we are planing to make to one room in our house.
I ran accross Chief Architect and it seems like the Home Designer version looks like what I am after with both 2D and 3D view, and the landscaping feature is an added bonus.

Does anyone have any pro/con on this product and/or other product to recomend?

Thanks,

I can recommend a draftsman. By the time you figure out ow the software works, it probably could have been drawn and all the corrections made.

I bought that same software a couple years back at Costco. Maybe I just suck at that sort of thing, but I found the software to be hard to use and the results always looked like crap. Fortunately the real house and yard turned out a bit better. :P

Thanks for the possible recommendations, but we actually had a contractor (that is recommended by friends) and the architect he works with (which turned out to have worked with a long time engineer friend) over at our house this morning for a preliminary discussion.
However, there are several options that I would like to explore in 3D to assist in coming to an agreement with my wife on. :D
