2 drivers 1 car

I believe I read somewhere that having 2 drivers share 1 car is allowed? If it is I'm wondering how the logistics would work.

I drive car, she drive car, i drive, she drive, i drive, she drive
or would it be
i take my 3 runs and then we switch?

Just trying to figure out how I can get the wife involved too.

at local events you can switch in whatever order you want, at National Tours they make you alternate. Don't forget to change your numbers when you change drivers.

Vis a vis getting the wife involved - there should be a Ladies (only) School later in the year.

There's also a '2 driver line', that gets sent out about 2x as fast as the other cars so you don't get behind everyone in run counts. Be prepared to be rushed, sometimes being a 2 driver car can make you almost hot lap it.

There are also ladies classes that run in different groups than the corresponding open class, although you both work the same group.

Not true at all, I used the fast track in a last event and got in trouble. We were behind in runs, however we were able to get our runs in but we really never got a chance just to rest. So it can be done but you will be busy. Be sure to get them to schedule you and your wife at least 1 run group apart. My boyfriend and I were schedule back to back which did not make it easy. But if schedule at least 1 run group in between you should be able to make the runs and be on time for work.

Hmmm... maybe I don't understand this correctly. If you and your boyfriend were in different run groups, why would you need to go in the two driver line? Also, since you are not running in the same group, how would you be rushed? Why would you need to put a run group in between you both in the future? I'm not criticizing, I'm just trying to understand. Thanks.

What is not true about what Jay said? And what do you mean you got in trouble?

You can't use the fast track lane for this purpose, George S. told me at the last event. You can only use this lane if you will be late to work, which I did not know at the time until one of us was still running and was going to be late.

What purpose?

It's not a fast track line, it's a two driver line - as in, you have two drivers in one heat.

If you only have one driver, as you described above, you have no need for this line.

I still don't understand what happened?

I think there may be confusion here of the "fast" line at the last practice, and the 2 driver line at a champ event

You might have not been at a couple of our Practice events where we had a Fast Track lane ... for people who wanted to hot lap, event officials who were trying to squeeze in a lap when they could, people who were behins in their runs, etc.

Aha - ok, to be clear, the OP was asking about a championship event and Jayson and others were responding appropriately.

Practices can be run in a number of ways, and bear no relevance to the question at hand!

Our run groups were right after another. So when the flag was up I would line up, however his flag was up and I was still running. So by the time I was done my flag was gone and his was on top, and he was just starting. We seemed to be running when our flag was no longer there, we were sooo behind. It seem that we never got through our runs within the allocated time. It was soo close that it made it difficult to report on time for work.

That was a special practice situation with two colors running at once. You guys got the wrong colors. We had two entries and never experienced an overlap.

I totally agree. Next time when we both check in we are going to ask for a gap in our color group. We did explain to the person who assigned use the run groups that we were sharing a car. One question in mind does the person who is assign the run groups know that order that is going to be run?

I think we've run 2 events with those flags ever, so not sure they knew how it worked either.
