Does anyone ever race crewcab duallys?
I only ask because I have a lowered CrewCab dually with a camper shell & think it might be silly fun.

Coming as one of the former crazy truck racer guys.... I would be worry about breaking parts in a truck that heavy.
We restrict SUV's and trucks that are too tall. I would think the dually would be legal...

You might have to three point some of our turns... Especially any Craig Angel finishes...
I do vaguely recall something about a wheelbase maximum. ?????

Dick Berger ran his crew-cab 1500 Chevy at one event in KC as a CP car when his Corvair broke (when doesn't it break? .
Somewhere there is a video of a Dodge diesel dually autocrossing, but I couldn't find it in a limited search. So, here's one of a 3/4 ton Chevy Duramax with only a 143.5" wheelbase.

So, you're only about 50" longer than that.3. VEHICLES
3.1 ELIGIBLE VEHICLES
A Solo event is open to any vehicle that can pass safety inspection,
has the minimum bodywork specified by these Rules, and is properly
muffled, except that vehicles with wheelbases exceeding 116
inches may be excluded by the Event Chairman if he determines, at
his discretion, that they cannot readily negotiate the course. This
decision shall be made in advance if possible and included in the
advance publicity and supplementary regulations.

"May" be excluded. My Orange Dakota was 118, my black one was actually 131.

I didn't say he would be excluded. I was only pointing out what the rule is.Jayson Woodruff wrote:"May" be excluded. My Orange Dakota was 118, my black one was actually 131.

Re: Does anyone ever race crewcab duallys?
When Jayson and I both ran the 131" wheelbase Dakota Club Cabs, I'd say we handled every course element just fine thank you. I can't imagine needing a 116" limit. That would be for some crazy Circle K parking lot stuff. I'm sure Jayson would agree we never had any issues fitting through or around anything.
Now, the Dually is like three feet longer WB and probably 2 feet wider, so not the same thing at all. But I bet a smooth driver setting up the course well and driving within reason could be impressive.
