Starting to Upload some of the clips on Blip.TV: http://blip.tv/dashboard/episodes

You probably have to Register, Log-In and Search for Makofoto Episodes to find the clips. They're slowly uploading now, but also need to be "converted."

Around the Red group on Saturday afternoon.

3rd, 4th and 5th Run Groups on Sunday.

Yah ... wobble IS better. Could hardly see it on the small screen. More noticeable when using Full Screen viewing mode.

I general I don't think the video's are as good as the El Toro ones since I was just shooting from the side lines instead of being in the middle of the course ... maybe. Next time I want to try to shoot some more 600 fps clips of tires ... but need to make sure they're in full sun. Getting closer though starts creating focus problems ... since the camera doesn't auto focus while in slo-mo mode. Also the limited depth of field of the long lens becomes an issue when shooting closer. I've been holding off buying one of these cameras hoping that an improved model will come out soon.

Will try to get more vids up in the next three days ...

Thanks Mako -those are incredibly helpful. What's the e-mail for PayPal contributions? I know it takes a ton of time to both shoot and upload the videos.

Thanks Mike ... a number of 600 fps clips of your car coming up. I think there are around 100 clips this time.

This seems to be the best link for making a small contribution: http://tinyurl.com/m56djq

For some reason folks are sometimes finding that other Paypal "gates" aren't accepting my email address: makofoto at earthlink dot net

Money is going to be used to hopefully buy the latest version of one of these neat Slow Motion/Still Camera hybrids.

Do these have sound during the real time sections?

No ... camera couldn't do the additional processing. Wish it could ... you need to add your own music ... like Pete did here:

Check out Sinclair C5! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinclair_C5

I noticed you captured my car and it was titled loud_s2000, so I was hoping there would be sound so I could see how loud it really is...anyway, great cinematography!

We missed you on Sunday! You could have gone up against some other very fast S2000's ... just back from the SCCA Solo National Championships. Joey ... check out his video ... was one of the top drivers.

What type of exhaust are you running ...

Yeah, those other s2000's are A stock prepared with hoosiers bigger than anything...I could never compete with that.

As for my exhaust, it's simply a 70mm stainless single with no cat and aftermarket header...singles tend to make the s2000 much louder as evidenced by that red ap2 s2k that was out there on saturday as well which had nearly identical mods and the same exhaust but the dual version of it. I actually felt/herd some slight knock/detonation up top since it was so hot that day coupled with my advanced timing...if I knew it were going to be that hot, I would have put some of that octane booster in my tank for insurance.

How was your car running in that heat?

Thanks a bunch Mako for taking the time and shooting on both days!! Sat. was even more brutal heat wise when you were out by the finish.

Looking forward to my Sat. coverage that you shot of me.

Thanks for the hard work you put in overall this weekend too. Your section of the course worked out great.

Forget Octane Booster ... which only adds 0.1 amounts of octane. You want to mix in various amounts of 100 octane ... available at various gas stations around the Southland. Try a 93 octane mix. I believe a lot of high performance cars ecu's can recognize and take advantage of up to say 95 octane. Definitely helps to protect our engines in hot temps.

A number of people made small contributions to Pete's course, including Mike S ... in pretty much full darkness on Saturday evening ... and Brian Peters ... trying to make our course a bit more Auto Cross like rather then, what he thought was Road Racey. :D ... yet the main thing was that everything flowed very nicely!

Did you get any footage of the Whale? I'd love to see how much body roll it generates.

Thanks Mako,
Looks like Tom B in my car did get a BIG wiggle out of one cone in the back offsets. No penalty.

Next group is uploading to Vimeo. Apparently it takes as long to Convert as the length of the clip. Since some of these clips are longer then the El Toro shots ... they are taking longer to Convert before being viewable.
