Alonso to replace Raikkonen at Ferrari in 2010

Post by Giovanni Jaramillo »

No surprise here but still....will be interesting how Massa and Alonso will mix together, like Alonso and Hamilton at McLaren?

The title of this thread should have been: "Ferrari hire the driver that cheated on them"

Keep in mind who came up with that plan. I'm still not convinced that Alonso is Witness X, but it's either him or his race engineer.

I was thinking farther back to when Fernando was asking his fellow country man and McLaren test driver Pedro de la Rosa about the red cars weight distribution or some such thing... and then tried to blackmail Ron to get his way...

It is pretty unbelievable if Alonso did not know about the crash plans, especially considering that he seems to be quiet a pal with Briatore since he dedicated his finish last weekend to him and has spoken highly of him, but for some reason I believe him on this and do not think he is witness X.

I am a bit upset that Fernando is pushing Kimi out of Ferrari, but hopefully he will end up in a team, McLaren is the rumor, where he kicks Ferraris but next season... apparently Lewis is not to keen on that pairing though and is very happy with the current (under-performing) Fin as a team mate...

bottom line for me:

i like watching fernando drive, more than i like watching Kimi.

kimi may have greater potential, but he sure doesn't like to tap into it.

i just miss watching schumacher. great driver driving a great car.

michael, we need you to turn 20 laps at qualifying pace.
...ok...

Michael was great, but... what about when Mika was chasing him hard at a race in Austria and Michael went off bouncing all over the place on the green... when Mika did an incredible pass of Michael in Spa... oh, and when Michael drove/crashed right into the rear of DC because he could not see for the spray because of the rain... oh, I could go on, until the JV and DH incidents that had championship ramifications...

Maybe the team did not tell him, but Lewis claimed that he was running the whole Monza race as if it was qualy until on the last lap, while in 3rd spot, ...
Kimi said thanks for the 3rd place handed to him...

Amen on all points - I'm so tired of watching what appears to be Kimi giving about 80%.

I haven't been able to watch the last few races but I just watched Singapore last night (yeah, yeah, it's hard to find the time) and it seems like it's back to being a virtual parade with passing only in the pits and penalties after the initial scrabble during the first couple laps. It's a good battle for the championship but the individual races are just boring. Or was Singapore just a bad example?

Racing requires more than just going fast. Yawn.

The only race more boring than Singapore is Valencia. Unless Suzuka has been ruined, it should be a good race. Last time F1 was there, Alonso passed Schumi in the 130R.
