Renewals of Points Card for 2010

Registration is now open. Paypal or check/money order via U.S. Mail (DO NOT SEND CASH/COINS). I'd prefer PayPal. And do NOT send mail certified or via any 3rd party vendor (i.e. FedEx). Just a simple stamped envelope with check via U.S. Mail works perfectly.
Here are the rules effective immediately for 2010:
- Points card renewals for the same number open October 1st (or after the last championship event in September)
- Points card renewals for a different number open October 15th.
- Any "Expired - On Hold" numbers will be released for the 2010 season effective October 15th. If you didn't renew your number for 2009 and left it on hold, renew by October 14th if you wish to retain the number.
Please visit the home page (Solo2.com) and click on the left-hand side navigation link titled

Must stress this again:
- Points card renewals for a different number open October 15th.
- Any "Expired - On Hold" numbers will be released for the 2010 season effective October 15th. If you didn't renew your number for 2009 and left it on hold, renew by October 14th if you wish to retain the number.
October 15th, not now.
Thanks

Thanks
I was just wondering, can I reserve a number now for purchase later?

Sorry as Aaron put it....no lay-aways.

What? Allow someone to not pay for a year, and get the number the next year? Personally I think LA should change, and release numbers not paid for each year. We keep talking about cost of doing business going up..... weather you play or not... you should pay to keep your number.
While we apparently won't let someone
pay to "lay-away" for a number being released, we will let them "lay-away" for a year at a time with no
payola for a year at a time once they grab a number. Seams backwards to me, but I'm just a member of the peanut gallery.

+1. I have no problem with people keeping their numbers as long as they want to, but it shouldn't be free. It's not like we're talking about big bux. It's $20 a year to park your number-- lunch for three at In-n-Out, or two bottles of wine, or a six-pack of tighty-whiteys at Target, for God's sake. If you can't afford to park your number, then you've got bigger problems, I'd wager.

I see no problem with paying to hold a number, but I'd be in favor of a reduced fee, kinda like the DMV "Non-Op" fee.

it's not free, you have to pay for the year that it was on hold before you get to keep it. you just have a 10 month grace period to pay.

I'm not sure how Gio actually does it, but my impression was that if you renew after not having a points card for the prior year (e.g.2009), you're only paying for the next year (e.g. 2010), not both years (2009 & 2010). If I'm wrong, then there's no need to change anything.

That's how it's worked with me. I hope those who wait until the very end aren't getting a free year out of it.
...Gio?

nevermind, apparently there is a 15 day window when you can steal money from the region.
seems if we're going to leave this big of a loophole in the process we should at least be checking to see if anyone is running events on their expired points card number. I know that people are, i just didn't think it mattered because they would have to pay in the end anyways. But I guess not.

IMPORTANT REMINDER!!!
If you have a points card for this year and are changing your points card number for next year, please continue to run your current points card number until next year starts. Otherwise you might be earning points for whoever has your future points card number.
Example:
Nicole Nagler currently has 599 but she is switching to 46 for next year. If she runs 46 for any events this year then she would be earning points for Gio.
(Nicole is signed up correctly for the SCNAX event so therefore this is only an example, I'm not picking on Nicole

)

Unless you received an e-mail from me, stating you've been renewed, you're number is still available for anyone to grab. And I was behind on some e-mails so I'll reply back to you.

REMINDER: To please renew your points card NOW before the start of the 1st event of the 2010 season so that our Timing & Scoring Wizard, can download the most complete and accurate listing of the people's registered points card number and club. Lots of people changed numbers and/or clubs for 2010. And if you have no number assigned (i.e. didn't renew) and you compete in an event, you don't get points!
You have less than 3 weeks to renew. Remember PayPal is your friend (U.S. Mail is secondary option).
