I have been authorized to give a free entry to a team of past National Champions from any region. The first team who posts a complete team on our SCNAX CUP team thread will be give a free entry for the entire team in the SCNAX Cup.

Does a Pro Solo National Championship count?!

For a free day of Fun we can't get a team of National Champions, Pro/Solo or Nationals together? Must have some pretty fragile ego's.

I bet it has something to do with R tires ...

They SHOULD just get some DD's ... but they'd have to use their race car index's ... so let them apply a street index correction?

Thats already covered in the rules.

If they are all on race tires then it doesn't matter, as they will all use up the rubber equally. They are national champions so they should know how to drive.

I'm thinking ... we'd like to go up against ...

Uh, you want them to run cars that cost 20-40 bucks a run and for 12 runs, 240-480 bucks in tires and fuel isn't exactly free.

I didn't say running the cars were free, just that it won't cost more to run their cars than if they entered a practice themselves.
Also most of them have other cars which they can run, we just want the drivers not necessarily the cars, though that would be good too, maybe its the cars that made the Champions not their driving.

It's usualy a combo of the two, unless you've got some really good sneakers.

Wait, you are telling me that you will set my personal SNCAX Cup index off of my recent events in a nationally competitive/winning BSP car but that I should show up in my G Stock Subaru 2.5 RS street car that stands no chance of doing well against it's class index.....

Something tells me I would be getting the short end of this deal. :unimpressed:

I think that would be equivalent to trying to run a stock Evo against the BSP index. No matter how good of a driver you are there is a certain point where you just can't overcome a crappy index.

Kalman, Clements, Whitehead, and I ran one year. We knew we had no chance at all, especially, with Eric driving their old Bimmer with all the good parts gone. But, it was a really good time. And I feel in love with the White Chick Civie... Had to settle for a Teal model of unknown gender or preference.

While that is true, most don't take all their runs at practices, so the event still costs them far more than a typical weekend.

Your past performances only affect your drivers handicap. The cars you drive stand on their own index, so your 2.5RS would get sk2gs index not BSP. The Evo assuming its stock would be SK1AS.

But the 2.5 or the stock evo are only capable of performing within about 93% of the car she set her driver's index in. So, she spots the field 4 seconds a lap. Pretty tough. But still a lot of fun if you're used to losing like I am. Maybe not as much fun for our national champ types who always win. I still think Will and Eric (used to winning) had as much fun as Paul and I had (used to losing).

If it wasn't for the people and good company and good times ... I don't think I would bother with all of the effort, let alone money, that AX'ing takes! The SCNAX Cup is definitely a crap shoot as to who's going to win anyway ... it's just about having a fun day.

Well different things motivate different people, I think you'll find that a lot of the folks that have won a national championship have a driving desire to win. Without the weird drivers handicap thing it would be a much more direct competition and probably not a crapshoot at all, but that would mean the opposite group of people probably wouldn't show. All I'm sayin is don't give folks a multi-second handicap, and then give them crap about not showing up, though I'm sure everyone appreciates the effort to include everyone.

Thanks for putting on this event SCNAX, it's always well received and a fan favorite.

Originally ... when it was a four run in each car event, it was specifically designed so that the newer drivers could win something. Maybe Art was trying to lure Champs in so that they could say ... I beat a National Champion. Don't forget the offer of a Free Entry for the Champ Team to help offset costs ...

In the past when it was a two day event, there were six runs per driver in each car and the top three would count. With the single day format and only one time counting the better drivers will have the advantage. Novice drives will only get the normal three runs to get a time and it will be harder for them. I fully expect a more experienced team to win this year.
