I would love one... But the house purchase has cut heavily into the discretionary cash fund - that and with the Expedition hitting 160k it is time for a new tow rig, before a new toy. Maybe AS in 2011.Jason Munchhof wrote:I thought you were all about the 911 in the new AS. Interesting garage floor.

What is the intent of this rule? Adding unibodies to the rule opens a huge can of worms.ITEM 26) Change the 4th sentence of 15.1.C to read as follows: “The updating and/or backdating of engines, transmissions, transaxles, or unibodies must be done as a unit; component parts and specifications of these units may not be interchanged.”
Hot diggity dog. Now I can get spanked by a whole new group. My Z06 shopping is a little less important (maybe).Move from SS to AS:
Chevrolet
Corvette (‘97-‘04, C5 chassis, non-Z06)
cause welding small parts from one unibody on to another is a huger can of worms.Bob Beamesderfer wrote:What is the intent of this rule? Yeah, but they also have a change that specifically excludes welding within update/backdate. I already thought welding was excluded, but that language is being added to another Section 15 rule. I suppose redundant rules have a purpose. Maybe.Marshall Grice wrote:cause welding small parts from one unibody on to another is a huger can of worms.Bob Beamesderfer wrote:What is the intent of this rule? Someone wanted to cut off/weld on a bracket/brace that is on a different year chassis but on the same line. It doesn't open up anything, it just makes it extra clear you can't chop cut rebuild without an allowance to do so.Bob Beamesderfer wrote: What is the intent of this rule? Seemed clear before, but OK. I was a little worried some might extend an imaginary definition of unibody.Eric Clements wrote:Someone wanted to cut off/weld on a bracket/brace that is on a different year chassis but on the same line. Dang! There goes my plans to weld an NA Miata unibody unto my NB chassis.Eric Clements wrote:Someone wanted to cut off/weld on a bracket/brace that is on a different year chassis but on the same line. 99.9 percent of the time everything they recommend to the BOD is passed, since they aren't usually solo people.Steve Towers wrote:The way I intepret the FastTrack is the class changes noted are recommendations, not done deals. Is that correct? If it is correct, when are finalized changes usually published?
Pretty close to a done deal. With the S2000's moving to BS, I can't figure out who (locally) will be left in AS. Anyone know?99.9 percent of the time everything they recommend to the BOD is passed, since they aren't usually solo people.

Is this the yellow brick road for Gary Thomason ? As if he needed any help ;)
My bad (I think). 98-04 911 (996) moves to AS. What about your car do I have wrong? The Porsche designations baffle me.My car is still in SS....are you suggesting I buy an AS car?
