Networking...Sorta

Everyone in Cal Club needs to get their plumbing fixed or have their taxes done, right? Instead of searching the yellow pages and giving my money to some guy I've never met before, I'd much rather give said money to George Shilling for the plumbing or Bob Plante for the accounting. Has anyone ever brought up the idea of maintaining a list of what everyone does in their "real lives?"

I don't know if something like that is against the rules or would infringe on the local sponsorships we offer (I'm just a caveman; I don't know about your modern "sponsorships."), but it seems like it'd be a worthwhile thing to do, as long as we're diligent about keeping it to autocross folks only, especially in this economy, where some of us are feeling the pain.

No I won't fix your computer, but you all better be using Toby for your Tinting ;)

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. He's already a site sponsor, so I didn't use him as an example, but I'm getting a new car next month, and one of the first things I'm going to do is have the windows tinted. Why would I give my money to some schmoe off the streets when I can give it to some schmoe who drives a bright orange BMW?

I know; it was just an example, since I know what he does in real life.

I love the idea! I always look to CSCC first now. Your list would make it so much easier.

Andrew has been trying to fix Karen's desktop computer for about 6 months now. I think he's just stringing us along for the free meals and beer! (Windows! )

I like the Idea Kurt! The JPL'ers could take care of our Planetary Space Mission needs. But, Steve A. doesn't want your pool business until after the winds die down. Beverly told me that Toby only does the OC ... so we might find an excuse to drive down to Fullerton so that Toby can put in some lighter tint on the Vette. Larry C will cover your stalking photo needs when he's not traveling the world shooting Drifting. Ken will test your car to make sure it meets manufacturers specifications. The Disney group have your animation needs covered. Pete L will manage your Secret Project needs. Darren C. can make sure your F22 cockpit is up to specs. Jenn C. might be able to manage your manned flight projects. Guy Ankeny can definitely take care of your Penske's.

Who else does what ...

I know a guy that can put cameras on your car and supply you with data too. :)

Who else here works for Disney? ChaseCam is now working with Disney.

Okay, isnce this was my brilliant idea, I guess I'm appointed Keeper of The List. I'm going to wait for some of the mucky-mucks to chime in to make sure it's kosher and I'm not going to get put on double secret probation or something.

People are often surprised by where our stuff is used. Disney has been using our PDR recorders for years on rides for testing stuff.

We are now working with Disney on a new deal to outfit their movie studios with portable HD wearable cameras for use in Motion Capture. See "A Christmas Carol" this coming month!

I can write and edit, although not some of the more technical/medical/legal stuff beyond spelling and grammar.

Very good with QuarkXPress, Photoshop and Acrobat Pro.

Cannot draw with both hands and a flashlight.

Know several people in the local automotive industry; some of them admit to knowing me.

Also available to fill out Solo classes by driving your car.

Was brought up a number of times in the past, just never acted on. Should be easier on this forum. Just need a board with no posting other than by the person in charge (thanks for "volunteering", Kurt) who lists people and products. I think it's a great idea.

BTW, if you need T-shirts or any other textile screen printed, call or email me. We also now do signs, banners and decals and are just getting into car wraps.
